Open Church: If you could ask God any question right now and you know you would get an immediate and clear answer, what would you ask Him and why?

Open Church is a weekly post that aims to be a place where Christians on Steem can hang out, encourage and build up one another, and reflect the love of Christ. The church is not a building, but is made up of people who have been transformed by God’s grace.

Steem and Hive are not all about money, but it’s also a community of real people with real needs. So let us be a community of brothers and sisters that can Truly support one another with our real lives.

Each week I will be putting up a new post with a new topic or theme for discussion. But feel free to come here just to fellowship and be a blessing to one another. Whatever denominational background your from, or if you’re just curious about the Christian faith, everyone is welcome.

So feel free to share a link to your favourite worship song, share a word of encouragement, a prayer request, or introduce yourself.

Today’s question is: If you could ask God any question right now and you know you would get an immediate and clear answer, what would you ask Him and why?

I’m convinced that God hears all our prayers and knows our heart. But sometimes in the midst of trials and difficulties, God can seem distant and we can get discouraged and confused. We’ve all been there before. So I hope through this thread, we can encourage one another, and provide a place for us to voice our heart.

God is not intimidated by our questions. God delights in our authenticity and honesty. The Psalms are full of raw emotions, coming before God with our deepest struggles, questions and desires. We can learn from the Psalms and do likewise, stripping away all pretense, and coming before God with sincere hearts.

So what is your question?

So many possibilites....I would ask...God...what question should I ask you?

What happens to us after death?

Yes, there’s so many questions I would like to ask God too. :)

As for what happens to us after death, God has provided us with quite a lot of details already in the Bible. And where we end up depends on whether we have put our faith in what Jesus has done for us. We know that when we receive Jesus into our lives and start following Him, our eternal destiny after death is assured.

In the Bible, 1 Corinthians 15 gives us a good understanding of some aspects of our lives after death.

Blessings. :)

I would like to know which of my relatives were in heaven. If any.

I would like to know too. :)

My question will be - What is my status with you and how can I meet your standard without falling?

These questions are very dear to me because I am aiming for the kingdom of God.
Thanks.

That’s a good question @seyiodus.

I can see that you have a desire to seek and please God. God is most delighted when we delight in Him. His Word gives us the assurance that we can know our status before Him as beloved children of God, rescued from the dominion of darkness and brought into His kingdom of light when we put our faith in Jesus.

"Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God." (John 1:12-13)

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9)

"and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins." (Colossians 1:12-14)

So I would say, keep trusting what Jesus has done for you, and keep loving Him. Blessings

Thanks for the reminder. God bless you.
