Hello friends,
with the introduction of "Communities" many new features have arrived and additional features have been introduced to the various front-ends.

Among the many new features there is Cross-Posting.

Cross-Posting

---

Cross-Posting is the feature introduced by SteemPeak that allows a post to be viewed within multiple communities.

Yesterday I tested this new functionality.

How Cross-Posting is performed

It's all very easy:

Go to the website https://steempeak.com/

Click on Login at the top right

Enter the name of your account and click on LOGIN

---

Once logged in click on the top right as shown in the following image

A drop-down menu will open where you have to click on Profile

Now you have a screen in front of you that contains all your posts.
Choose the post you want to appear on a second community.
Once you have chosen the post you must click on the symbol of the three dots located at the bottom of the post you have chosen.

You will see a menu where you have to click on Cross post in ...

Now a window will appear.

1 Choose the Community.
2 Enter a description of up to 100 characters.
3 Click on CONFIRM

At this point you have successfully executed Cross posting and your post is also visible in a second community.

In fact, in the "All Posts" screen of SteemPeak there is the post just created with the words "cross posted" that you see in the following image.

Why I don't like "Cross Posting".

The reasons why I don't like "Cross Posting" are mainly three:

Possible source of abuse.

---

If you have followers who have set the automatic vote on your posts it does not seem to me morally correct that they vote for you a duplicate post.

For example, I have people who have chosen to vote for my posts automatically, perhaps using a service like SteemAuto.

This is the first and most important reason why I will no longer use this feature.

Lately I got into the habit of publishing two separate posts: one in English and one in Italian.

This choice, unlike Post Crossing, is dictated by a valid purpose: to increase the readability of my posts, in particular the longer ones and to put the Italian language in the same place / level as the English language. In fact, in my older posts I was forced to always put Italian as a second language and it annoyed me a little.

In the title of the post I published yesterday there will be a typo.
Once published it was impossible for me to correct the error.

My blog is the result of many hours of writing and I do not like that in my blog there are posts without images.

Well this is the third reason why I will no longer use Cross Posting functionality.

Final considerations

The only utility that I could find in this feature is to give more visibility to posts that are not your own.

The rewards of a "cross post" are divided as follows:

• 90% Author of the post
• 5% Community of publication of the cross post.
• 5% Who published the cross post.

SteemPeak is one of the front ends that I prefer and that I use with pleasure.
A praise to the developers of SteemPeak must still be made for having thought and implemented an additional feature but if I put the pros and cons on the balance ...

Post Crossing? No thanks.
