Be a POSITIVE PINEAPPLE!
Don’t you just love those mornings when you can jump out of bed with a spring in your step! You don’t feel drowsy or lazy… you are just filled with a bursting enthusiasm for everything that lies ahead in your day! There are thoughts and plans buzzing around in your mind and you just want to get up and going so that you can get all the wheels in motion!
Well, this morning was one of those mornings and being a Monday made it extra special haha!
You know that expression “Motivation is like bathing – it doesn’t last, which is why it is recommended daily”. - well, I somewhat live by that and the first thing I do when I open my eyes in the morning is head over to Pinterest and have a read through some motivational or inspirational quotes. I find that doing this before I do ANYTHING else sets the tone for the day - it literally prioritises a positive mindset no matter how you may actually be feeling I save a million of them and then I choose the one that resonated the most with me on that particular morning. Today it was this one…
The mood I was in this morning - this really spoke to me and just pumped me up for the day ahead even more!
Then, I normally go and share it on all my social media platforms because, well – sharing is caring you know! - and now I am sharing with all of you here too Haha! Again, this "sharing" is not done without intent. Not only does it impact the lives and moods of many people around you but the positive spin that they express in return generally compounds your own positive mindset even further - it is a ripple effect... everything is really, isn't it!
Some days just begin with a wonderfully natural "focused intent" and one of the first things to pop into my head at the time was #mindfulmonday - the brainchild of one of our amazing Power House Creatives Community members... @tryskele - and I just knew that whatever I was going to write today, it was going to be motivational and somewhat reflective - because that where I am at!
I genuinely love my morning routine - don't worry I will not bore you all with that haha, but I do! I look forward to every facet of it but before I got there today, I hit the treadmill for another 5km walk after dropping Jude off at school. I used to walk on a regular basis and I had forgotten just how much I love it, so now I am doing it every morning Monday to Friday and then taking a break on the weekends. It is SUCH a great way to start the day... all those feel good endorphins!!!
I actually prefer walking on a treadmill than out on the road (nature walks are a different story) but we live in the city so I cannot stand all the fumes and the busyness of the roads. When I walk I want to escape with my headphones on! It gives me an hour to mill around in my mind... I throw on my "gym" playlist and hit the belt! Do any of you have favourite "workout" tunes? I do!!!! (obviously she does... she does everything in life with a backing track) haha! This is one of my BEST - I am a HUGE Snoop Dogg fan... and David Guetta isn't too bad either haha... The title seems pretty obvious really, although I pretty certain that Snoop had alternative sweat ideas. lol! - Either way it gets (and keeps) me going!
I don't really drink coffee at home anymore - only black rooibos tea so that is generally what follows after. This morning I took a little strain making it to 11.30am before I could eat (intermittent fasting) - but I did in fact make it haha - and spoiled myself to a delicious low carb breakfast at a new little spot called Quince which opened up about a month ago at a local plant nursery down the road from where we stay. Apologies in advance to those of you that are hungry whilst reading this haha! I had the breakfast named "Wheel Barrow", which consisted of: Creamy scrambled eggs with smoked salmon , chives with avocado , on a warm croissant - I just left out the croissant.
Once my belly is full, I can focus again and get to work - as long as I don't make the belly too full! hahaha, because then all I want to do is sleep! But not today! Today has been wonderfully productive! It is fascinating how the smallest of changes in a persons daily routine and habits can render such massively dramatic and positive changes!
Each and every single morning that we roll over and open our eyes, we have a choice at our disposal – we can either make the best of the day ahead, or we can make the worst of it. I do realise that most of us do NOT actually set out intentionally to make the “worst” of our day – but the reality is, that with everything that is going on in our lives, we sometimes have to make a mindful and very clear effort towards making the BEST of it! You know… give it our conscious ALL!
This “procedure” will naturally differ greatly from one person to the next, and it REALLY does NOT matter if others understand or connect to your methods of “motivation” – the only point… is that they WORK for YOU as an individual!
Let’s say perhaps you choose to meditate for a few minutes in the morning, or maybe you like to sit in the garden enjoying the morning air whilst you drink a cup of coffee. If you are like me, perhas you stick on some music while you are getting ready for the day ahead or maybe you even pull funny faces at yourself in the mirror, to give yourself a good morning giggle! It REALLY does not matter! Whatever “floats your boat” – DO THAT!
You may not be familiar or at ease doing self-motivating stuff and do not know where to even start – well then start with a little bit of experimentation. I can assure you that Google has an endless array of morning motivational routines for you to try and test. Find one that “resonates” with you and give it a try! If you find that you didn’t enjoy it, then try another and another until you discover one that rings true to you… If none of them work for you as a “complete” unit - you will no doubt be able to take a little bit from each and then compile your own unique morning motivational routine…
Now, don’t get all one dimensional on me please… this is NOT just about what you do in the morning, but THAT part of your day most certainly DOES hold VERY high relevance as it sets the tone for the hours which will unfold ahead. Feeding yourself is something that you need to do ALL the time, EVERYDAY! It needs to become a lifestyle in entirety! So, on that note...
I WISH YOU ALL A FANTASTIC WEEK AHEAD!
Love you all long time!
❤❤❤
Until next time...

make sure that today always makes you happy. Hurry up and get up to get up. There is someone waiting for you
We only have the present :) May as well make the most of it hey :)
Instead of being a positive pineapple, I tend to be a negative nectarine, at least when greeting people. I like to answer “How are you doing?” with unexpected responses like “So far, so good, but they have time to fix that.” And “Have a nice day!” with “OK, if I have to.” And my favorite, “May I help you?” gets “I’m beyond help, but where is...” for an automatic response.
Other than that, I am a very supportive person :)
hahaha well, I actually think there is a great level of humour in the way you choose to approach things, which in its own way puts quite an uplifting spin on the moment no doubt :)
That's my goal :). Another answer to "How are you?" I like (in the right situation) is "I'm ok - the voices have stopped. As long as I take my medicine. Now what did I do with my medicine? [pause, looking away] Oh, thank you." 😝
HAHAHAHHAAHA!!!!!! Love it!
