It is better abolished rather than abused. If there are tendencies of it been violated and the wrong people sentenced, then this should not be in place.
However, where the reverse is the case, it should serve as a deterrent.

It is so, in my country Venezuela the innocent pay, perhaps it was very cruel in agreeing with the death penalty, if there were more than one innocent person here
