Steemit Engagement Contest: I Take Care of Planet and You.

The earth is the only planet in the solar system that supports life and why do we want to destroy it? Anytime I watch the news about a gas explosion or an oil spillage I say to myself, why is all this happening? Why is it that anything that benefits human beings will destroying the ecosystem. Seems like that's the nature of our kind.

I know I'm just a youth, a middle income earner, how can my activities help the planet? If that's what you're thinking, then your very wrong. Every little thing that happens can lead to big chances, if I decide to clean my neighborhood everyday, then after a while, others will join me in it.

My little contribution to the welfare of my environment and planet can lead to more greener and healthier living. With that being said, here's a little demonstration of how I take care of the planet...

1. Recycling Old Materials.

Today I was able to gain motivation to do some house cleaning, while I was cleaning, I stumbled upon some old books of mine, i remembered when last I read the books and it was some years back, I even thought I had given it away but here it is standing in front of me. So I made plans to take the books to a recycling site.

In addition to recycling, i have been storing some Beverages Bottles that were piling up in my neighborhood. Glad bottle are supposed to be properly disposed/recycled but I noticed it was just laying around in my neighborhood, so I took it upon myself to gather them and take it to a recycling site.

2. Clearing Of Waste And Bushes.

Improper waste disposal can lead to unhealthy environment which can cause some serious sickness. I've always adviced my neighbours to carefully dispose their refuse but it seems my words just went through the first ear and came out the second. So I've taken it upon myself to dispose these waste and clear the bushes so as to avoid rodents and harmful insects into my compound.

3. Planting Some Trees/Shrub

Afforestation can be a great way to revive earth's ecosystem, trees play a major role in the Oxygen Circle, it takes up carbon Dioxide In environment as food and lets out Oxygen as it's Waste. If there's isn't much trees, where will we get our oxygen and where will the Carbon Dioxide go to?

Today I took it upon myself to plant some trees and shrub which can contribute a little to the Oxygen Circle. Here are some pictures of shrub I planted.

Conclusion

Let us try to remember that ignorance is the most dangerous decision, let's all try to work together to make the earth a safer place for the benefit of the young, elderly, sick, and healthy persons living on this earth. I hope my post enlightened you all. Thanks for reading...
