Steemit Engagement Challenge (week 4): "Share your Original Talent" / Photography @patjewell

I couldn’t decide what to do for my entry. I kept on asking myself, “Self, what is your original talent?” But, "Self" would not answer me.
Then I went back to my childhood and the first thought that came into my mind was me stealing my dad’s “movie camera”. One of those old 8mm cameras where a film runs in the camera and when it was full it was processed on a film roll which my dad then run through a projector to show us.
I’m sure that is where my original talent for photography started.
For my 10th birthday I got my first camera. I was hooked.
If I had a dollar for each photo I have taken in my life I would have been a millionaire.
My top 5 reasons why I like about photography
📷 It is exciting and never boring with endless possibilities
📷 It captures the beauty of the world around us
📷 It bring out the smiles and tears in people when you share
📷 It captures those special moments and memories
📷 It tells a story from the beginning to the end
For today I have chosen 5 categories to share some photos with you.

In each of these categories I will share 4 photos just as they were taken, not edited. Also some taken with my professional camera and others with my mobile phone.

I started this page by sharing photos I have taken in my country South Africa. What makes it unique is that I add a Christian message to each one of the photos. This I then post every morning on the FB page.
What started as a share with my family and friends ended up in people around the world viewing and sharing my daily message.

I'm no expert either. What I show is what I have learned over the years of what works and what doesn't. The more you take the better they get.

Best of all you don't even need formal training. The more photos you take the quicker you will learn what works and what doesn't. That's how I did it.

Yes I can remember 😊 Gosh it feels like ages ago and jet it was only a couple of months ago. How time has fly.
A lot of those photos were taken with my mobile phone so no excuses. You can also do it.
