SEC Season 8 Week 6: For the Love of Animals"

There are many animals on earth today, both the domestic and wild ones. These animals are there for our own good, they are gifts from our creator, they were created with a good purpose, they were not created for us to abuse them. So this week's engagement challenge for Colombia original is very interesting...

What is your opinion regarding animal abuse? Have you witnessed any event of animal abuse?

Animals are gifts from God for humans to enjoy them. He allows us to use them as food, some to help us with our work and also for us to have fun and learn about his qualities.
Animals, like us are beautiful creatures and should not be used in a bad way. Animals should not be abused. Different ways humans abuse animals are: Killing them for fun, using them for sports, or for a cruel purpose.

The righteous one takes care of his domestic animals_Proverbs 12:10

When God created animals he didn't allow humans to kill them for no reason, but he has only allowed us to use them as food, our clothing, for work (for the strong animals).
So we should show respect for God's gift by not treating them with cruelty, just as we treat a gift a friend gives us.

I did witness some abuse to animals though not in a large way but it is still an abuse. It was during my childhood where children would play with stick to kill any lizards they see. Many did this, I was also tempted to join in this play but I didn't have much courage to do it 😂. But now that I'm a little grown I realize that those things are abuse to the animal.

Are there animals living on the streets in your community? What do you think is the cause?

In my country, people do not have much love for pets or animals, and pets are hardly taken in except dogs for security purposes. There are only a few who can have love for pets to the point of taking them into their house.
Also they consider that taking care of pets is quite expensive and they should care for their families first before taking in an animal.

So for the above reasons and more, there are many domestic animals living in the streets. And it's already normal.

Do you have or had any pet adopted at home? Tell us about her and what do you do to make your pet feel loved?

Though I love pets, we don't have any at home and my mom will never agree to it. But there was a place where I was learning how to sew from my teacher and she had a very beautiful pet dog named Lisa.

I loved the dog so much that I would touch and offer to feed it whenever it was brought to our learning place. And the dog also got very acquainted with me that I would even carry it. I already miss Lisa now that I'm no longer there.

I believe that one day there will be an end to animal abuse and that humans will be at peace with animals and one will not have to hurt another. This is a realistic hope that will soon happen. But for now we want to take care of the animals of the world, if we have pets at home it's important to care for them, always give them food and make them feel loved.
