RE: SEC S8 W1: What is the value of life? / Was ist ein Leben wert?

I agree with you on one point, no innocent person should be punished just because law did not work right. However, a hardened criminal has no right to live in this world as a permanent threat to others. Cheers!

Thank you so much @TEAM 5 and @bambuka, I appreciate it 👍

However, a hardened criminal has no right to live in this world as a permanent threat to others.

So, if you consider someone to be "a permanent threat to others", this should give you or the laws of your community the right to kill this person?
In thinking and doing like this, you open the doors for killing all people who think outside the "political correctness", because in thinking on their own, they are "a permanent threat to others".
In other words, your "permanent threat" is nothing but a fiction or a lie, part of a narrative about a social community of knights and followers for an elite.
If there really is someone threatening others by doing physical harm, you can bring him/her to prison and help to heal him/her from doing so - if he/she wants to be healed. Otherwise, let such a person stand for him/herself, arguing for his/her position without being able to do physical harm.
And last not least: do no one command to kill others as is usual in war times!

This has nothing to do with politics bro but I am talking about hardened criminals, the rapists, the murderers and the heinous criminals that eat human meat of small kids because they enjoy it. Do you think they have a right to live? WE have hundreds of such cases every month and still none of them get any serious punishment. Do you want them to go Scot free?

Do you think they have a right to live?

Of course!
Who am I to decide which persons have a right to live and which not?

This has nothing to do with politics

On the contrary, this has a lot to do with politics, and the earlier you check this, the better for your thinking.

WE have hundreds of such cases every month

And this would go better with penalty of death? No, as you yourself say: "still none of them get any serious punishment". This is the problem, not the question on penalty of death. And the problem is - deeper digging - why so much people do such harmful things in your country but not in other countries. And the question is if you increase the problem while giving the state still more power so it can suppress still more people. And the question is on the contexts of the crimes. And there are still more questions...

I don't think this is a platform for discussing political or personal issues in any country. We are 1.4 billion with diverse culture having different backgrounds so hundreds is too small when comparing with any country 20 times smaller than us. I hope this answers all your questions and this is my final answer in this thread, Cheers!

I hope this answers all your questions

No, it doesn't - as you knew well...

The amount of people within a country or other community of organizing the living together of men and women is not of interest in regard to philosophical / ethical questions. The only exception to this rule is: your community has just one member - which would not be a "community"...

I don't think this is a platform for discussing political or personal issues in any country.

This may be right.
Which platform do you think to be handy for discussing?
