I would like to thank my dear friend and mentor @josevas217 who brought me here to participate in this contest -

NEW CONTEST: The World of Titles without freedom

I would also like to quote my dear friend @alanasteemit what she says in the opening of her post before telling about my shattered and fulfilled dreams:

"But like everything in life, time passes, flowers bloom, days become weeks, months, and years, and dreams are seen and forgotten. Maybe this was not my real expectation, but I am not too far from what I dreamed. Maybe it was not my first dream or it did not come true the way I wanted it to, but I have no regrets."

In my case, nothing went my way right from my childhood, but I am the one to blame as I don't want to bring my father into my failed dream. My childhood wish was to become a sportsman, but my father was dead against games because, when I was growing up, games were considered a sure way of spoiling one's career, unlike these days when the most money goes to sportsmen.

However, this was not about money but my love for the game of cricket, which pulled me like a powerful magnet, and when I got selected for my college team, my happiness knew no bounds. I was flying like a bird over the horizon, spreading both my wings as much as I could.

But I should have known that dreams have no value even if you put everything into them but dreams remain black as they have no colors in them. My dream shattered before I watched it fully, and my father stopped me from going to the match, which was scheduled to select players for the state team.

That was the first title of this story, The shattered dreams."

Now to the next. I still wanted to continue as a player, so I took up the game of badminton, but even that was broken soon, although I played it for a couple of years and was good at it. But my destination was something else, so I started to see a new dream, and that was to see the world. For that, I had to find a way because traveling the world is a costly affair, so the first thing that came to mind was a career in marketing.

But dreaming was just the beginning, as I ended up in production and liaison, which allowed me some traveling but it did not satisfy the traveler sitting in my soul. When I saw the people in the marketing department making their plans to go places and telling the stories of the places they visited, I changed my strategy, and now I wanted to join the marketing department.

That idea prompted me to give up my career in production and join another company that agreed to train me in management at its own expense and appointed me as a sales engineer, which was like a dream come true, but only partially. I kept changing companies for a chance to fulfill my dream of visiting far-flung areas, and finally, I found one that gave me what I had been looking for all my life.

The second title is "The Beginning of the Dreams"

Incidentally, I never stopped writing for various websites, especially fiction, which provided me with a few extra bucks and deep inner satisfaction.

I agree that dreaming is one thing, but fulfilling it to the fullest is another. In my case, dreaming was a motivational factor, but it took diverting directions at different points. I am glad that I achieved what I wanted to, even if not in its initial form.

And the third title of the story- The Story Never Ends

I would stop here and ask my friends -
@emsonic
@weisser-rabe,
@aaliarubab
to come and tell us what they feel about dreaming careers, and fulfillment in life.

Saludos 🤗

You are right, if would get an injury during my sports career, I could get a bullet during my army job (I did that for a few years as a project manager in army's border road organization) or there could be an accident during my travels which were more than a common man does. But if I am still alive, it was my destiny to survive 👍
Thanks for your nice review.

Thanks for such a creative contest. And yes, you are right, such contests are the only way we know about each other. I also come to know about Steemians through their posts only.

What I feel is that I am not the only one who did not get what he wanted to get as a teenager but I am glad what I achieve in the end. Finally, as I said, the story goes on as it never ends.
