In Nigeria, death penalty is very common during military era, all the whole adminstration where govern by military so if they find out someone has been killed by another person. They would arrested such person take him or her to the court of law for the final judgement, if court judge appropriately they would just killed the person by the firing squared.
In this democratic era, they don't usually kill person like that rather they would just sentence him or her to life imprisonment.
I agree with that statement if a person kill someone and he or she doesn't have genuine reason such person must be kill without delay. Because it serve as the lesson for those who have the intention to do that. Killing an innocent peoples in our society is like killing the whole nation and this must be stop by the government of any country.
Another things is that it will create fear in the mind of peoples, once the peoples know that if you kill your fellow human being they will kill you when the authority find strong evidence against. As the say goes if their is no law in the country their is no sin.
They implemented this kind of law in our country during the military regime and they take it seriously but once we started using democratic system of government they abandoned it. Democratic system of government don't implement this law they would rather give such person life imprisonment.
This law should be implemented because it will serve as the lesson for every citizens. Killing your fellow human being without any cause is a bad characters and this will also bring peace, harmony and orderliness in our society.
In addition, once this is implemented people will start know their boundary, citizens can move freely in their community without any difficult.
Their is one notorious arm robbers who terrorizing Benin city, this man was once work at the motor park where he was earn his living. Suddenly this man joined bad gangs and he even become the driver for that gangs, that keep terrorizing the state and many peoples started to fear them because their mind is not at peace.
This man and his colleagues rob some many bank, thieves car and they would also killed the owner if they didn't corporate. Later on he extended his operation to another town where innocent peoples were killed. They would carted away their belong and still killed them in that process. All this gave government concern in which inspector general of police was invited to the federal villa, police tried their best to catch him but they didn't. As time goes on they later catch him by Nigeria police.
He spent some days in police custody and was charged to court after strong evidence against him judge order the police to killed him. At the end of the day they fire him till he stopped breathing by Nigeria army forces.
