Writing & Reviews application for The Communities of the Month Support Program

Hello, dear Steemit community!! We are more than happy to present our application to the Communities of the Month Support Program. We think that this is an amazing idea to create more engagement in the users and make Steemit even stronger.

We consider that it's extremely important to make users feel comfortable and to see that their work is actually well valuated, so, without doubt, this proposal made by @steemitblog, will mark a before and after in the entire Steemit ecosystem.

Community Purpose

What is the purpose of your community?

The purpose of the Writing & Reviews community is to provide the user with space where they can share their writings of any nature (poetry, short story, chapters of novels, simple ideas) and we also integrate the posts of reviews, both of books and of movies or television series.

Is it unique?

Our community is unique, users show an enormous commitment to it, and they've expressed their gratitude on numerous occasions for providing them with this space.

Are there any other communities covering the same subject or area as yours?

The only community that is similar is Freewriters, which is where writings can also be shared, but on one hand, their objectives are different from those of Writing & Reviews and of course, 50% of our strength, which are reviews, are not covered for Freewriters community; and on the other hand, they have fewer number of subscribers and shows little dynamism with 26 active posters (while Writing & Reviews has 304).

Why should people join your community?

People should join because both the production of their own written content, as well as the reading or observation of content from another author, and subsequent criticism, is a great contribution to the entire Steemit community. This is something we all do, from writing because of how we feel, to consuming content; therefore, the fact that the user has a place to express themselves is essential.

Who are the Admins and Moderators of your community?

The administrators and moderators are @fendit and @belenguerra.

What countries are they from and what languages do they cover?

We are both from Argentina, and our language is native Spanish. We both handle English and we both use Google Translate or other pages to translate other languages.

Are the team members paid or rewarded in any way from the community funds for their work in running the community?

No, we've never paid for our work with the community account. Eventually, we've voted on any of our posts with the account, and sometimes we make posts for the community from our personal accounts, considering that if we are voted by @steemcurator01, that would already be the reward for our work.

If you only have one Admin what would happen to your community if you left or lost your keys?

We are two administrators and we have the passwords well saved, in different media.

What are your plans for growing the SP of the account?

We've recently opened the possibility of delegating SP to the account to all users who want it, and in return, they'll get a reward in Steem.

Are all the post rewards powered up, or are they used for paying delegators or members of the community team?
Also, we set most posts to 100% (except when we need Steem to pay for contests).

As previously mentioned, almost all of the posts are set to 100% and we have also power up with the remaining steem on some occasions.

We don't receive any type of reward for working in Writing & Reviews, and therefore we make a weekly publication from our personal accounts, to be voted by @steemcurator01, which we would consider our reward.

On average what proportion of the posts each week receive a vote from the community account?

We try to vote for as many users as possible. With the recent implementation of user verification, we are prioritizing those who have taken that step, but we always seek to cover as many as possible, taking as criteria the constancy of the user in our community and their responsibility. However, we also intend not to repeat the votes, but to reach as many people as we can.

Plagiarism & Abuse

What measures do you take to check for plagiarism and other forms of abuse (content farming, duplicate accounts, fake accounts)?

We are covering the issue of duplicate accounts with the verification of users and we control plagiarism by copying different paragraphs of the publications and checking on the Internet if that is not already existing content.

Do you have designated people in your team for plagiarism checking?

We rotate it between @fendit and @belenguerra.

In addition, the @endingplagiarism account helps us on numerous occasions to check this. Your participation has been invaluable.

Do you ensure all photos used in your community are copyright-free?

Regarding the images, we always ask that they cite the source from which they have obtained it, we point out the cases in which they share photos with a watermark (which is not allowed), and if the photos are of their own authorship, we ask that they provide data of the device used to take them.

Does the community team check and comment on every post in the community?

Since the community has 5,969 and 301 active users, we can't read and comment on absolutely every post, but we always try to do so.

If not, approximately what proportion of posts are commented on?

Approximately 85% reaches to be read, commented, and voted.

Plans & Updates

How often do you post plans and updates for the community?

Weekly we publish a report with the posts selected for the Community Support Program. In addition, in our reports as CR we are adding the advances of the community.

These publications are made from our personal accounts, but we do not receive votes for it.

At the same time, we publish contests from the community account and new proposals such as user verification or the delegation program.

Do you post these through the community account?

We use the community account, except for posting the Selected for the Communities Support Program.

Do you have a roadmap or long term plan for the community?

Yes, we have a monthly plan with the publications that we must make from the account, contests, and short, medium, and long-term objectives related to the SP, number of users, and number of active subscribers.

Promotion

We started with a plan of promotion at the beginning, that had Facebook, Twitter, and an email. But we couldn’t put so much energy there due to the tasks on Steemit.

The idea is to keep promoting the community and the Steemit platform while inviting people in person, and we also invite users inside Steemit.

We’ve realized that if it's a matter of community engagement, it’s so much more useful to talk with someone who already is a steemian.

To do that kind of promotion, we visit different users to invite them.

Anything Else

Please include any other information you would like us to know about your community, and why your community should be selected for extra support?

In less than a year Writing & Reviews has presented an impressive growth, going from being created in September 2020, to having almost 6000 subscribers by July 2021.

Our users choose us again and again and their commitment to the community is very clear.

We would love to be able to give them good support, there are incredible writers who have found their place to express their written art. Their original and soulful content deserves to be rewarded, and we are very excited to offer them more.

Any other special features your community has?

We've noticed that our contests are eagerly awaited and attract a large number of users, so we decided to raise the reward from 25 Steem to 75 Steem, to further incentivize our users and show them that we are there for them.

Do you encourage only #steemexclusive posts in your community?

Yes, when we check for plagiarism, we make sure the content is #steemexclusive
