CONTEST: Great actrors that have won Oscars 🏆 By @sumanthp
Denzel Hayes Washington won his first Oscar for best actor for Training Day in 2002
Denzel Hayes Washington won the best actor for Training Day in 2002. He played the role of L.A.P.D veteran narcotics officer. Along side him, Jake Hoyt who has applied for LAPD position has to go approximately 24 hour training under Denzel Washington, Alonzo Harris, who has not so good reputation. He has his own way of handling cases and it proved to be questionable. So story moves along as Jake Hoyt has to take every step carefully keeping in mind that Alonzo's method of handling cases are questionable, ruthless and very dangerous.
I want share few of his lines from his award acceptance speech :
" I want to thank the Academy. You know, when I was in college first starting out as an actor, they asked each one of us what we wanted to do. I said I want to be the best actor in the world. All the students in the classroom looked at me like I was a nut. Life has taught me to just try and be the best that I can be, and I thank the Academy for saying to me that on this given night I was the best that I could be. "
Here's the full video of him receiving the award :
What I learnt from his achievement is to never give up on the dream. Even though nobody thought that he will win Oscar but he did and proved them wrong with his long dedication and passion from the very beginning. So, we need to hold our head high, aim big, learn what you can from each moment and don't get distracted from other's negative critics. Just be your own and just move forward and make your path all the way to the success.
