Ad Astra revolves around astronaut Roy McBride, who goes on a daring mission to Neptune to uncover the truth about his father, who disappeared on a space mission 30 years ago with mysterious energy threatening the stability of the universe.

The story of the film is very simple centered around the relationship between father and son, similar to finding Nemo but with the reflection of roles and different environment, and although there are several characters, the film can be treated as the quality of one-man films due to the total focus on the character of Roy where Brad Pitt alone occupied three quarters of the film with a complete and strange marginalization of the rest of the characters and here appeared the first problems of the film, Roy is a very calm and emotional person to the point that his pulse never crossed 80 even when he fell from a very high height in The opening scene, due to the disappearance of his father on a space mission to The Planet Neptune 30 years ago and the unstable marital life he lives, so it is obvious that the axis of father and wife is one of the most important axes to be addressed and based on our personality and motives and justifications, but what happened that the two axes were ignored strangely and provocatively affecting the transformation of the character and made his motives unconvincing, when Roy knows that his father is still alive he goes on a journey to look for him, and during this The journey turns into a reckless person who does nothing for which you can't find any justification.

The atmosphere of the film is very quiet throughout the two hours suitable for those who suffer from insomnia and difficulty sleeping, the screenwriters took what the screenwriter Josh Singer does in his films and beat him in a hundred and maybe a thousand, the interesting scenes are very few compared to the duration of the journey and the length of the film so that some of them were not effective.

The visual effects were very beautiful but they missed the special touch that makes you say when you see a certain scene from the movie of this movie influenced by a movie like this, and I do not know is this because the film is focused heavily on drama or because the filmmakers were affected by several films such as A Space Odyssey, Interstellar and movies even from outside Jenner such as Blade Runner 2049.

This is certainly one of Brad Pitt'sbest years, after the great tributes he received for his role in Tarantino once upon a time in Hollywood completes his brilliance with a wonderful performance in a very difficult role, and lies the difficulty of the role in the character qualities he embodies where it requires him to act quietly without any emotions Or remake besides not providing the script and musical soundtrack for any help to him, and Brad Pitt excelled in the embodiment of the character and express what is inside him through his eyes as he added his voice over a lot for the film, as for his oscar nomination for this role is not settled but has real opportunities.

I loved very much the real touch that became the hallmark of space movies, previously space movies were based on adventure and visual effects only, but now the drama became part of this adventure, and in this adventure film here is psychological within the same character of Roy that resembles deep space, and with the development of techniques and the ease of human access to space you will find that he did not It is different from the Earth, where you will find pirates on the moon attacking vehicles for the purpose of theft in addition to places to sell consumer items for profit, and when you reach the final station you will enjoy a lot of dialogue and social message that the film wanted to deliver despite doing some illogical things to reach it and be an individual confrontation.

In the end Ad Astra was a satisfying experience that I did not like and at the same time I did not hate it
