What is curation ? How does curation works on Steemit ? Guidance post by @shahidchoudary

I hope you all are doing well and i am here with a post that could be helpful for newcomers . I have chosen a very important topic which is curation . This is very misunderstood because often people don't know how exactly all this work. So let's begin ;

What is Curation ?

Curation generally means " selection of something or catagorizing " .
On steemit Curation is mostly misunderstood especially by newcomers . Mostly people think that curation is just all about voting and nothing else .
Let me explain it to you ;

• you visit a post you read the content
• you find it interesting and meaningful you vote it up
  leave a reply for appreciation and
• if you find some mistakes you mark them and ask the creator to modify
• and if it is plagiarised you inform it to community owners .

All this comes under the curation . All these activities help the Curators to identify the quality content and appreciate it and reward it . Because such content then reaches the convergent linear Reward straight curve and the cheap Content remains at bottom.

Voting and Curation :

First of all let me introduce Steem pool with you. Steem pool is the pool of tokens where minted tokens are present with an inflation of every 3 seconds .
Their are proper percentages for beneficiary rewards
That are as following ;

• Content Creaters & Curators(PoB)- 65%
• Witnesses- 10%
• Vested Tokens Holders(SP Holders)- 15%
• Steem DAO- 10%

What happens when you vote for any Content ?

When you click on upvote for any content the tokens from steem pool are distributed from the pool to that content . This distribution is According the Sp that you hold , the larger the Sp the larger the Reward would be distributed and in same sense it works conversely in case of down vote .

Effect of your Sp ;

Just like i told above ;

• Your Sp directly effects the that how much reward would you distribute from the pool.

• It is your influence on the account.

• If you hold it , it is beneficial for plateform because it would be used to curate qualited Content.

• You earn Curation rewards According to your steem power .

What is Curation reward ?

Curation reward is the Reward that Curators get from the reward of post . The more Sp you would have the more Curation reward you would get. So it is also good for you to know if you didn't knew that voting doesn't cost you anything but in return you are rewarded with Curation Reward.
