When the hooded man first approached Eric, he had no idea how much of an impact the man would have in his life, both financially and security-wise. Eric had been an ordinary high school teacher who was barely making enough to keep him debt free, until the hooded man came with his offer, an offer Eric felt was given to him on a platter of gold.

At first when the hooded man had approached Eric, he had been a little bit skeptical about the whole thing. He felt there was some amount of risk in it that the hooded man just wasn’t telling him about but after he heard how much he would be paid, every doubt in his mind was cleared off. The money the hooded man offered him was fifteen times bigger than what he was been paid as a high-school teacher.

And all the hooded man asked him to do was to help him deliver packages to the locations that would be given to him by the hooded man. He was asked never to look at the package and never to ask questions. Just do the drop and leave. So far Eric had done about six drops and he started contemplating quitting his job as a high school teacher but the hooded man had told him that the only reason he had been chosen in the first place for this job was because of his job as a high school teacher.

“It provides the perfect cover” the voice of the hooded man echoed in Eric’s head as he walked towards where he was to drop another package, his seventh package.

Unlike other packages where he only had to leave it in a place and then it gets picked up by someone else, the hooded man had instructed him to sit in a street bench and wait for a man who would come sit beside him at exactly fifteen minutes after he sat down. He was to slide the package to the man and then leave without a word.

Eric had done just that and then twenty minutes later, he was seated in a cab on his way home. But just as the cab driver turned into Eric’s street, he received a call from a hidden number, it was the hooded man.

“Why haven’t you delivered the package?” The hooded man asked over the phone.

“I have. I did exactly what you instructed and gave the package to the man”

“What man? I just got off the phone with my man, he never saw you”

“Bu..but I did as you asked. I gave it to the guy with the black hat”

“Black hat? You gave it to the wrong person. You pray nothing happens to that package or I’m coming for you” the hooded man said before hanging up the call.

Eric was in trouble.
