The moment Paul walked into the bar, the bartender could tell that this was another lost soul trying to find comfort in the arms of mother alcohol. Two hours later, Paul was still sitting at the bar with no intentions to leave soon. He planned on spending the whole night here if possible, that was the only way he knew he could prevent himself from committing murder.

“Another shot”. Paul said to the bartender who immediately poured another round of whiskey in his glass. “You know what? Give me the whole thing”. Paul said to the bartender as he grabbed the whole bottle of whiskey from him.

“Yup, he's a goner”. The bartender whispered to himself as he walked away. He was not interested in finding out what was wrong with the man, as long as he paid for his drinks.

Paul watched the bartender walk away before focusing back on his drink. “He must think I'm an alcoholic”. Paul said to himself, not like he cared. If the man had gone through what he has in the last few hours, he would be sitting down beside Paul and sharing a glass.

For the past few weeks, Paul had always had this lingering feeling that something was wrong with his marriage but he wasn't sure what, and every time he tried talking to his wife about it, she always gave him the "everything's fine" reply. So Paul did what every good Christian would do, he talked to his pastor.

He told him about his worries, how he felt Sonia was seeing someone else and they had both prayed about it. The pastor had asked him to pray fervently, that the devil wanted to destroy his marriage, so Paul did just that.. He prayed.

He was ready to do whatever it took to make his marriage work, so Paul had gotten off work early today in other to spend some good quality time with his wife. But he had gotten home to receive the greatest shock of his life. Sonia was indeed cheating on him with someone.

Paul had charged towards the man like a wounded lion but he froze the moment he saw who the man was.. “Pastor John??”

The same pastor who he had confided in was the one destroying his marriage. Paul had attacked the man with every strength he had, it had taken the grace of God to stop him from killing him.

He had immediately walked out of the house and straight to the bar to avoid doing anything to his wife. He had come here to calm himself down and he intended to do just that.

Paul signaled towards the bartender again, he would need another bottle.
