HELLBOY 2019 MOVIE REVIEW

Hellboy is set where: Hellboy comes to England, where he must defeat Nimoy, Merlin's husband and the Blood King. But their battle will lead to the end of the world, a fate he is trying so hard to turn away from.

“Hellboy” Nell Marshall it is a movie made with good intentions. He chose material of solid and twisted origin from the original comedy as the basis for his story; It is distinguished by a fantastic design that is highly imaginative; And he's constantly trying to keep things fun. Unfortunately, good intentions alone do not exclusively lead to a good end product. For example, while all of these are positive, the movie as a whole is twisted and lingering in its narrative; Ultimately, he lacks all the resources he needs to implement his vision; And he has so much swinging and missing jokes that you almost want to laugh at poor sympathy.

Completely reset without any affiliation with films produced by Guillermo del Toro, this new version of Hellboy tries to please everyone - it tries to be both an origin story for beginners and simultaneously tells history even though the hero is an established title. As it usually happens when a movie tries to do too much, it becomes a messy business that doesn't quite look what it wants or wants. It's basically a mixture of flashbacks, side adventures, and prophecies within the universe that were put together like a movie that's not exactly bad, but it's definitely not good.

But the story is hard to fully describe because it is everywhere. It starts with Hellboy (David Harper) - a demonic hero who fights evil for the Bureau of Paranormal Search and Defense (BPRD) - who fights vampires in Mexico, but after a short return to his homeland of Colorado, he heads to England to help with the ancient thing of searching for a trio of giants.

Meanwhile, an ancient evil called Nimue The Blood Queen (Milla Jovovich) is being revived by collecting her long-separated and scattered body parts again ... but it is important to note that it is not an element in the plot that the protagonist is involved in. Instead, that time is spent mainly showcasing Hellboy's WWII origins; Explanation of the global role of BPRD and the father of its "Hellboy" leader, Professor Brum (Ian McShane); Narrated the story of the young psycho Alice Monaghan (Sasha Lynn); And submit the leads to BPRD, Leading Agent Ben Daimyo (Daniel Dae Kim).

And if you thought that including all of this sounds like it likely does not allow a decent amount of space to deal with what the film's main antagonist should be, then you are absolutely right. Hellboy is a movie that can feel the rush and sluggishness at the same time, and the roots of that are in the script everywhere.

Some things run into the story, some of them not working - the same could be said of the film's aesthetic and design. The movie's pride and joy is clearly the look of David Harper, Hellboy, which looks incredibly cool, because you never doubt its realism for a moment. There are also some other cool stuffs from the comics that are brought to life in horrific and awesome style, like the brutal and disgusting design of Baba Yaga (Troy James / Emma Tate). However, although it is large, not everything is nearly as smooth and there are clear points that could use additional resources or time. The Gruagach Pig (Stephen Graham), who helps put together Nimue, is the most obvious example, but the movie suffers every time something becomes big or epic, while CGI starts out badly.

However, although the aforementioned elements are negative, nothing removes the wind from Hellboy's sails, as the number of "smart" ships and pieces land in the skin and arouse the eyes more than laughter. Rather than being a problem with being nervous or trendy, the real problem is that it's not funny. It's the equivalent of the guy in the party who thinks he's the hottest guy in the room and keeps shooting despite getting no response from anyone around him, and no one wants to be around this guy. You might think that this could have been avoided or corrected by combining alternative cuts and screening checks, plus a little RED, but it looks like no one has made the effort necessary.

Hellboy is definitely a disappointment as has been proven in the past, this is a character with a lot of potential that appears on the big screen, but previous movies have struggled because they couldn't find an audience, and that suffers because it feels like he's tried to throw everything on the wall hoping to circumvent the same issue. It's not a disaster, but with talent like Neil Marshall and David Harbor one got better.
