CLUB100 || Midlands Dam - The biggest man made water reservoir of Mauritius!
Midlands Dam was completed in 2003 and since has been deserving potable and irrigation water to the Northern District of Mauritius!
Located on the highlands, where there's a lot of raninfall whole year round and also the river streams of the longest river of Mauritius (Grand River South East), deposit water in the dam!

Some days back I wrote on the other reservoir I visited recently and you can check the post for Piton Du Milieu by clicking here!
It was actually last Sunday that I went there! After visiting Piton Du Milieu and picking up some strawberry guavas on the way, we also made a quick visit at Midlands Dam.
In less than 15 minutes drive you can reach Midlands Dam from my house...very near and the nature around is simply something not to be missed if you're a nature lover...
The trees...the greenery around...the wild flowers blooming...the fresh air and breeze, rivers and streams!!! Magical!
Park directly in front of the lake...
You do have different roads leading to Midlands Dam, but I chose this small one leading to the lake directly...
Midlands Dam is really very big and many people love picnicking over there on a fine Sunday afternoon!
Another fishing spot for fresh water fishing lovers!
Oh yes...I have fished many times in these waters and did catch couple of fishes! But it's been long I did not came to fish with friends and family as I have been going to fish mainly at sea!
Maybe...my next fishing trip must be in fresh water lakes/reservoirs...I'll do it this week itself! Let me organize it!

Going to Midlands Dam and spending some time there is highly recommended if you are visiting the island. In fact you will get to see 2 different water reservoirs which are just 5 minutes away from each other...and also get to pick wild fruits for free on your way...
Not to forget...you also get to take top photos with amazing background to keep as memories!!!
