CLUB100 || PITON DU MILIEU - Spent some relaxing time at one of the water reservoir of Mauritius located near my place!

Today after completing my different food deliveries with my 2 nephews, we decided to go out a little bit and after our lunch we took the road in the direction of Piton Du Milieu!
Like I mentioned, it is located quite near to my place and we reached there very quickly!
We have rivers which deposit their water in here as well as rain water which is captured and stored here...
Actually we have many other water reservoirs in Mauritius - I will write on the others when I visit them again...which should be very soon!!!
Perfect place for nature lovers...
Driving to Piton Du Milieu is so relaxing...as the nature around is simply amazing! Check out the photos below, it was when I was driving to go there earlier today at around 2pm!
Narrow roads...
After driving for 5 minutes on the main road, I then had to enter a small narrow road and on both side, we had different wild flowers blooming...such a magical sight!

Amazing nature...
It was so beautiful around that I decided to get off my car and walk till the reservoir...
I just wanted to enjoy and breathe that fresh air while taking some photos of the wild beauty!
My nephews were so happy to get the car to drive...hmmm these youngsters!
Colorful nature...
So it was green everywhere...the recent rains have contributed in having healthy trees and plants and we can easily notice it!
And flowers ranging from white color to yellow ones and purple too...simply mesmerizing!

But please...don't ask me for the names of the flowers, plants and trees...I don't have any idea! I just love spending time in nature, that's all!
Let's get back to our reservoir...
After my photo session, I continued to walk until the water reservoir!
The last time I came here, it was only half full...and today it was overloaded! We had a wet February with 2 cyclones which gave us a lot of rain - so beneficial for us!
You can even see how the road was flooded too...I did not drive on there though!
But we did have a lot of people who went further inside and you can notice on some of the photos!
Fishing spot...
On any Saturday or Sunday, it is sure that you'll find people fishing in the reservoir! I fished quite a lot of times here actually!
And you do catch nice fresh water fishes and eels in there!
Oh well, it was such a nice Sunday afternoon spent at Piton Du Milieu! I am just sad that I did not bring my fishing rod along with me...
But very soon I'll organize a fishing day over there - stay tuned!!!

Do people need any sort of permit to fish in the lake?

Actually I did add the what3words on the post...just below the first photo, but I think I will write in a clearer way at the beginning of the post itself so that people reading can easily check the location. Thank you!
Now for the permit...hmmm we don't need any kind of permit to fish in Mauritius. All the lakes and reservoirs are for the government, that is for us all to enjoy but responsibly of course.
We do have some regulations to follow like we are not allowed to use fish nets when fishing...some basic stuffs and that's it.
