Assalam o Alaikum Steem's Friends, how are you all? I am fine by the grace of Allah Almighty Alhamdulilah. May God protect us all from evils Aameen. I am very glad to take part in this contest held by @steem-travelers because I love the category of food and theme is really beautiful { Traditional Food From Your Country}. In this post I will tell about the traditional food of **Pakistan**

Traditional Food Briyani

There are many traditional food in Pakistan but briyani is the most popular among all foods. It can make with different style and different recipes according to culture.

History

Biryani is a mixed rice dish originally prepared by Pakistani and Indians. It is made by adding rice and spices into the meat, it makes usually with chicken, goat, lamb, prawns, fish, vegetables and eggs. In North India, many varieties of biryani created within the Muslim centres of Delhi (Mughlai food), Rampur, Lucknow (Awadhi cooking) and other little territories. In South India, where rice is more broadly utilized as a staple nourishment, a few particular varieties of biryanis.The modern biryani created in the royal kitchens of the Mughals (1526–1857) and it's made with the local spice and rice in India and Pakistan.Kris Dhillon thinks that the dish started in Persia, and was brought to India by the Mughals.

Briyani Making

Ingredients

√ Lamb cut || 1- 1/2 kg
√ Basmati Rice || 5 cups ( 1/4th boiled)
√ Oil || 1/2 cup
√ Onion || 2 small
√ ginger,garlic paste || 1-1 tbs each
√ Red chilli powder || 2 tsp
√ Yogurt || 1/2 cup
√ potatoes || 4 medium
√ dried plum || 10,12
√ Tomato || 1 large
√ Green Cardamom powder || 1 tsp

Direction

.In a wok heat oil add sliced onion and fry until half brown done.

. Add ginger garlic paste saute for one minute.

. Now add mutton in the wok and saute until it's changes color.

. Add all spices in the mutton and cook it well continuesly saute it for good 15 minutes.

.Add yogurt mix well.

.When gravy look like this it's ready for pressure ( I made it in a pressure cooker) because lamb, mutton and beef take time to be done fully.

.Add water and give a pressure for 14 minutes.

.When meat done add potatoes cut in the lamb gravy and cook it until done.

.Make color with two tbs yogurt, 1 tbs milk and yellow food color.

. It's layering time in done gravy add sliced tomatoes and green chillies.

.Add layer of rice on the gravy.

. Add prepared color on the rice, cover and cook the lid tightly for 15 mins.

. Delicious and yummiest briyani is ready to eat.

All briyani lovers know its value because it's yummiest and tasty food.
