Tandoori Chicken Pulao
Today I'm going to share a traditional Pakistani recipe called Tandoori Chicken Pulao. Before I get started, let me explain what is tandoori chicken?. Tandoori chicken is a chicken dish produced by roasting chicken that has been marinated in yogurt and spices before being cooked. It can be prepared on a stove nowadays, but it was traditionally cooked in a tandoor, a cylindrical clay oven. The dish originated on the Indian subcontinent and is now popular all over the world. Historians claim to have unearthed the first signs of a meat meal that resembled Tandoori Chicken in the ruins of Harappa.
We can prepare different kind of recipes with tandoori chicken like I made Tandoori chicken pulao.
Let's start the recipe;
Ingredients
Name | Detail |

Chicken Cut | 1 kg |
Rice | 4 Cups |
Onion Choped | 1 medium |
Ginger, Garlic Paste | 1,1 tbs each |
Oil | 1/4th Cup |
Tandoori Masala | 3tbs |
Red chili powder | 1tsp |
Whole Spice powder | 2tsp |
Salt | 3 tsp |
Green Chillies chopped | 2tbs |
Yogurt | half cup |
Chicken cubes | 2 |
Green Coriander | 3tbs |
Food color | half tsp |
Preparation;
In a wok heat oil add chopped onion and saute until half done add ginger garlic paste and mix well.
Add chicken in the wok cook until color changes Maximum 15 minutes and then add all spices in the chicken cook all more 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes add yogurt in the wok cook again when all water dry add green Coriander in the chicken gravy.
Now add 4 cups water in the gravy and make it boil then add soaked and drain rice in it.
When all water dries well and rice done completely sprinkle some food color cover and cook in low flame for 5 minutes . Tandoori chicken pulao is ready to eat. I didn't do it but if you like you can coal smoke in gravy before adding rice.
I prepared this tandoori chicken pulao first time and it's turned literally tasty.
