Last Sunday I went to Hachinohe City Museum. I was surprised since it's my first time visiting a museum in Japan. I felt lucky because there are plenty of displays and learnings that I can share with you.

Archaeological Display

These are the historical remains found in Hachinohe for a long time ago. It introduces the lifestyles and cultures from the Jomon period through to medieval times.

The Akamido exhibition material is a pottery with a pointed bottom called Akamido style pottery in the latter half of the early Jomon period about 8,000 years ago.

At first glance, the pottery shown may look the same in shape and pattern. However, if you look closely, there are slight differences such as the opening of the triangle and how to finish the mouth of the pot. This indicates that all of these pottery are not of the same period and have a certain amount of time.

Historical Display

Armour used by the Lord of Hachinohe Nanbu clanー A Japanese armour that is worn by a samurai and rarely made of metal. It was mostly made of lacquered strips of leather tied together with cords. This was done to make it flexible. Great warlords had iron helmets with horn-like attachments that were designed to put fear in the heart of the enemy and strike the ally.

Hachinohe a Castle Townー It is the residence for the lord and center for politics. It was created in 1664. And this castle town become the central city areas.

Folklore Display

Prayer and Performing Arts ーThe people of Japan have always shown a special respect for nature and gods. The gods involvement with nature has influenced how the people of Japan pay their respect. A long time ago the movements and manners of praying were developed into performing arts. These performing folk arts have been intertwined into the lives of people and have been passed down through the generations.

It was a fun and learning experience. It was good to know the different pieces of information from the past of Hachinohe. The museum is open from 9:00 am〜5:00 pm. The admission fee is 250 yen (5.26 STEEM) for adults, 150 yen (3.16 STEEM) for High school, and 50 yen (1.05 STEEM) for elementary.
I am inviting @maris75 and @liamnov to join the contest.
