Hi,

Greetings to everyone, hope you are all doing well. This is Amina Safdar from an Asian country called Pakistan. Today I am going to share my first post in this community about the contest organized by @hive-111293 about the amazing topic: Things you like the most about your country. It was very difficult to choose only 3 things from your place to write about but did this difficult task. So without further delay lets move right into that(I will use the cc licensed pictures for my post).

Thing I like about My country:

1.Saif-ul-maluk Lake:

This lake is present in the northern areas of one of the province of Pakistan which is Khyber pakhtukhawan, in kaghan valley. This lake is covered by the mountains and lies between them in the form of depression where the melted water of the mountains gather inside it. This is given the name sail-ul-maluk because of the love story famous about the lake, which is known as once a prince of Egypt named Saiful Malook visited this lake and saw fairy princes there dancing and also the demons who caught them inside, prince fell in love with one of the princess named Jamala and fought with the demon(who due to extreme weather conditions there show anger) and helped the Jamala escape. This was the love story that was penned by a poet later on. I am sure you guys would love this history of the lake, I came to know about this lake in one of my favourite novel few years back and fancy to go there to see the dance of fairies in the night.

Saif-ul-maluk in freezing weather where the nerves of the man go out of order and he becomes insane until the temperature becomes favourable.

2. Badshahi mosque

Second thing i fancy in Pakistan is Badshahi Mosque present in the androne(internal) Lahore of Lahore City of the province Punjab. This mosque was built in the Mughal era in 1673 ant until 1986 it was considered as the largest mosque in the world, and now rank as the 7th largest in the muslim world. This mosque is made up of red sandstone and marble inlay with the fillings of white stones. The designs in the interior of the walls and roof are like the floral or florescent designs which were famous in the Mughal era. This mosque is the sign of the historical memorial, which could encase upto 100,000 people. Prince William and Kate Middleton visited this place in 2019.
I fancy going there because we cannot time travel, but we can visit such places which are hundreds and thousands years old to walk into the ancient romance of the history.

3. Kashmiri

Kashmir is the 5th province of my country and is called as the Jannah(Heaven) on the earth, due to its cool weathers, mountains, greenery, kind people with beauty, fruits, dryfruits, tradition and culture of Kashmir. Various are the places and things i like about Kashmir.

K2

K2 is the 2nd highest mountain in the world with 8611m of height, pyramids shape, situated in the kakakoram range of the Azad Kashmir. It was discovered by british group of people in 1856. Its other name are Mountain of Mountains, Mountaineer’s Mountain and Savage Mountain( because it tries to kill the people who go there for expedition to summit this mountain). This is the 2nd most famous in fatality rate and is considered the most cruel mountain. But if it is so dangerous why I love this mountain? Firstly because it is in my hometown, secondly you would agree with me that we love the things and places which are very cruel to us, and we ignore those things which are nice to us and take them for granted.

Inspite the danger the climbers across the world come here annually in both summers and winters to summit this mountain. Summiting in summers is ok but summiting due to extreme weather swings in winters is deadly, last years in 2021 our national porter which assist other mountaineers in the expedition went missing with two other partners. But people still fancy this mountain and do i. I fell in love with this after reading a novel(Kakakoram Ka Taj mehal).

Kashmiri Tea

Kashmiri tea or chai is famous winter drink to prevent cold, Kashmiri people drink it in summers also due to cool weather. Other names of this tea is pink tea, noon tea, gulabi tea and gunpowder tea. Made by the green tea leaves, milk, soda powder, salt, cardamom, dryfruits, and sugar. It has the abilities to prevent heartburn, stress, cold and bloating. We also make this tea in winters in large quantity and mix the milk in that afterwards when we make tea, sitting around the fire.
