Share Your Home-Cooked Meal | Sauté kale and fried anchovies

Previously I would like to thank @aliarubab for organizing this contest. Hopefully the holding of the contest will motivate the steemians to write more creatively and with more quality in this steemit. In this contest I try to write with the theme Homemade Food. What I will discuss in this contest is stir-fried kale and fried anchovies, which are my favorite food for breaking the fast.

Sauté kale

Stir-fried kale is a dish made from sliced ​​kale and sautéed with certain spices. Kale is a very popular vegetable in Indonesia because it is easy to find and the price is affordable. Stir-fried kale is usually used as a complementary vegetable menu for rice dishes or as a healthy side dish for the family.

The process of making stir-fried kale is quite simple, namely by sautéing the garlic, red chili, and other spices until fragrant, then adding the kale and cooking it until cooked. The seasoning used for stir-fried kale usually consists of salt, sugar, pepper powder, and sweet soy sauce (if you like). Some people also like to add onions or prawns to the stir-fried kale to give it a more savory taste.

Stir-fried kale is a healthy and nutritious vegetable menu because kale contains lots of fiber, vitamins and minerals that are good for the body. In sufficient quantities, these vegetables can help maintain digestive health and the immune system.

Here is a recipe and how to make stir-fried kale:

Ingredients:

  • 300 grams of kale, cored and cut into pieces
  • 2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 red chilies, sliced ​​oblique
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon sweet soy sauce (optional)

How to make:

  • Heat vegetable oil in a wok or skillet over medium heat.
  • Saute garlic and red chili until fragrant.
  • Place the kale in the pan and mix well.
  • add salt, granulated sugar, and pepper powder. Stir again until the spices are evenly distributed.
  • If you like, add sweet soy sauce and mix well.
  • Saute kale until lay and cooked perfectly. Should not be too long so that the kale is not too lay and watery.
  • Remove the stir-fried kale and serve it as a complementary menu for rice or as a healthy vegetable for your family.
fried anchovies

Fried anchovies are a popular Indonesian snack consisting of small anchovies that have been fried until crisp to make fried anchovies, the small anchovies are usually cleaned, dried, then rubbed with a mixture of cornstarch, salt and spices before being fried in hot oil until crisp and golden brown.

Fried anchovies are commonly served as a snack or topping for various Indonesian dishes, such as fried rice,fried noodles, and soup. it is also enjoyed as a snack on its own, often accompanied by hot chili sauce.
This dish is easy to prepare and is a great choice for a quick snack or appetizer.

Here is the recipe and process for making fried anchovies:

Ingredients:

  • 250 grams of small anchovies, cleaned and dried
  • 1/4 cup corn flour
  • 1/4 cup of wheat flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
  • Right amount of oil.

How to make:

  • Combine corn flour, wheat flour, salt and pepper powder in a bowl. Stir well,
  • Add the anchovies to the flour mixture, then stir until all the anchovies are lightly coated with the flour.
  • Heat cooking oil in a wok or frying pan over medium heat until hot enough.
  • Place the anchovies in the hot oil slowly and carefully. Fry the anchovies for 2-3 minutes or until they look dry and brown.
  • Remove the anchovies and drain the oil using a colander or paper towel.
  • Fried anchovies are ready to be served.
