Argentine football as a theme in Buenos Aires street art (Argentina)

Buenos Aires is known for its street art. Especially in the district of Palermo, you can find something in most streets. You don't need to find out in advance where to look. Just walk the streets of both Palermo Hollywood and Palermo Soho. Something pops up whereever you go. It was nice to come back to this district and spend a few days here. It is a trendy district. Plenty of restaurants, cafes, bars and shops. This is also where I chose to spend New Year's Eve. When I arrived in Buenos Aires, it was shortly after Argentina won the world cup in football. It was easy to see that they were still celebrating the victory. You could see that in the street scene. Some people, both adults and childeren, wore the football shirt with the number 10 on it. In shop windows you saw the shirt for sale, and even the gold trophy, but in plastic.

I'm not a football fan, but I did watch the match between Argentina and France. Thus, I knew a little more about who is on the football team and who Lionel Messi is. In Palermo we came across several pieces of street art with the winning team. The artists must have been in action almost immediately after the match. It was also fun to see that Diego Maradona is not forgotten. As far as I know, it was he who ensured that Argentina went to the top of the World Cup in 1986.
