Strict parents have both advantages and disadvantages. It depends on the situation and intensity of strictness. I agree with you. You said if parents are strict then they will have good influence on their kids. The kids will be obedient and well behaved.
Disadvantage is that such kids lack self-expression. I am really blessed to have supportive parents by my side always.
