It's interesting to know that strict parenting aids kids to be the best academically, they have discipline and self confidénce which they channel in their studies thus bring out the best in them too. It could be negative too as you stressed these kids might think their parents hate them and grow with he notion too making them afraid of their parents and thus hiding things from them too.
