Tapak dara is an annual shrub that originated in Madagascar, but has spread to various other tropical regions. The scientific name is Catharanthus roseus Don. In Indonesia, this ornamental garden plant is known by various names, such as the sindapor, the copper flower, and the tapak dårå flower.
