Each country been there, had their dark ages and plenty of women found a way to survive...they might have been called withes, were midwives, advisors, the first farmers, abandoned, sold, slaves, teachers, widows being locked in by crazy men envying them, girls like Jeanne d'Arc saving a nation.

As long as it is a free choice to get married or remain single whatever the weight on the shoulder is easier to carry.
