Para esta edición 76 de "Arte y Escritura" el invitado será el pintor francés, de la región de Lorena, Claude Lorrain (Claude Gellée).

Su obra, puede decirse, fue innovadora debido a la importancia que le dio a la luz; de allí parten sus composiciones. Además, el contexto o ambientación estuvo dirigido a lo mitológico o a lo religioso. La naturaleza, fuente de inspiración, tenía una concepción lírica y emocional. Además, ubica la mirada del espectador hacia el horizonte que contiene varios planos.
Fue un hombre muy humilde y sin mucha educación formal que alcanzó su fama con mucho trabajo y estudio. A los 21 años inició sus estudios de pintura y viajó para Italia. A los 27 años se instaló en Roma y se empezó a consolidar como pintor. A los 30 años recibió varios encargos de la nobleza y para el clero. Los cardenales Fabio Chigi y Giulio Rospigliosi fueron sus mecenas y vale decir ellos posteriormente se convirtieron en el Papa Alejandro VII y Clemente IX, respectivamente.
Su amor por la literatura fue también una fuente de inspiración. En 1634 ingresó a la Academia de San Luca, y nueve años después ingresó a la sociedad literaria fundada por el cardenal Ludovisi, la Congregación del Virtuosi.
Murió en 1682 en Roma y en 1840 sus restos fueron trasladados a la Iglesia de San Luis de los Franceses.
A continuación les presentaremos tres de sus obras para que usted escoja la que más los motive a escribir. La primera se llama: "Marina con las troyanas quemando los barcos” (1643), la segunda, "Puesta de sol en un puerto" (1639) y la última, " Paisaje con la boda de Isaac y Rebeca" (1648).
