Cuando tenía 17 años viajó a París para formarse como pintor en la Academia Julian. Su desempeño como alumno fue formidable. De hecho, solo transcurrido un año de estudio, pudo ingresar a la École des Beaux-Arts, donde resultó ser el cuarto alumno destacado de setenta que había.

A lo largo de su vida se desempeñó como pintor, escultor, crítico de arte, novelista, ilustrador, xilógrafo y editor de periódicos, entre otros oficios.

Perteneció a los movimientos artísticos: Nabis, impresionismo, simbolismo, posimpresionismo y modernismo.

Se destacó en los géneros: retrato, pintura de paisaje, escenas de género, pintura mmitológica y desnudos...

Este destacado artista falleció un día después de haber cumplido 60 años, el 29 de diciembre de 1925, en Neuilly-sur-Seine (Francia).

Greetings to all the Steemites of the world. Once again I wish to pay tribute to a prominent Swiss plastic artist named Félix Vallotton, in this 103rd edition.

Vallotton was born in Lausanne (Switzerland) on December 28, 1865.

When he was 17 years old he traveled to Paris to train as a painter at the Julian Academy. His performance as a student was formidable. In fact, after only one year of study, he was able to enter the École des Beaux-Arts, where he turned out to be the fourth outstanding student out of seventy.

Throughout his life he worked as a painter, sculptor, art critic, novelist, illustrator, woodcut artist and newspaper editor, among other jobs.

He belonged to the artistic movements: Nabis, Impressionism, Symbolism, Post-Impressionism and Modernism.

He excelled in the following genres: portrait, landscape painting, genre scenes, mythological painting and nudes...

This outstanding artist died one day after his 60th birthday, on December 29, 1925, in Neuilly-sur-Seine (France).

Here are three of his works so that you can choose the one you like best to write about. The first is titled The Rest of the Models (1905), the second, Five Painters.
