My friend the tree

When I read this contest and its theme, I tried to find facts because different countries celebrate Tree Day on different dates. But as I searched and researched, I read that Venezuela recognizes Día del Árbol (Tree Day) on the last Sunday in May. I invite @solperez @aviral123 and @sur-riti to support Tree Day.

I am glad to be part of this contest as a nature lover and a true devotee of Mother Nature. While going through my search I found that:

"The world's first documented arbor plantation festival was organized by Spain. This site Alameda de los Remedios, remains the same and is still planted with lemon and horse chestnut trees. A simple granite marker and a bronze plate commemorate the event. Additionally, the small Spanish village of Villanueva de la Sierra held the first modern Arbor Day, an initiative started in 1805 by the local priest with the enthusiastic support of the entire population."

I read it somewhere.

I live in India and Australia and India celebrates National Tree Day. National Tree Day is celebrated on the last Sunday in July. Trees are like the gentle, tender, beautiful, and soothing children of the earth. It is through trees that the earth sacrifices its wealth to its parasites.

By serving fruits, flowers, water, forests, and land, it does infinite favors to the entire animal world. The trees and plants of the earth take care of their earthly family like warriors. Mother Earth plays an important role in providing sustenance to all living beings.

The oldest ancestors of this world are trees. Trees are the oldest evidence of life on earth. Trees do not die of old age unless they are cut or damaged. Every year, 5 billion trees are planted around the world, while twice as many trees, 10 billion, are cut down.

“It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon men’s hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air that emanation from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit.”

― Robert Louis Stevenson

Every single tree produces enough oxygen every day to keep four people alive, and we have almost 400 trees for every person present on this planet.

"There is a small forest for every person on this planet, and it is a special gift of Mother Earth to us."

March 21 is celebrated across the world as International Forest Day or World Forestry Day to raise awareness about the importance of forests, forestlands, and trees in our lives. It is important to understand the value, importance, and contribution of forests to balancing the life cycle on Earth. Issues like deforestation are also discussed on this day.

As I said I live in two countries, and both celebrate Tree Days. Australians love to celebrate trees. The country's Arbor Day takes place in June, and National Tree Day falls on the last weekend of July. Different regions of Australia also celebrate Arbor Week, which is celebrated at different times throughout the year.

In Indian philosophy, trees have additional social, religious, and spiritual importance. Indian society considers planting trees to be virtuous. In the Vedas and scriptures, planting a tree is said to be equal to donating a hundred cows. The Vedas are the voice of Indian wisdom, which is saturated with life experiences. The Vedas address vegetation, earth, water, fire, sky, air, etc., and are full of mantras, nature, and environmental consciousness. They suggest the protection of vegetation, trees, and the environment.

All the components of the environment are intertwined with the Indian faith. Trees, plants, water, forests, and land are all immersed in the faith of the people. Indian gods and goddesses are established in some animals, birds, and trees. This environmental awareness can arise only from a parallel respect for nature, and there is nothing like mere religious ideology.

Human life should remain safe on earth, so from this point of view, a management system for keeping trees covered like the sky was developed in the forest system of ancient India. In ancient times, we were able to develop a culture of protected forests, gardens, and small gardens in our houses.

IMG_20210208_125857.jpg

Under this thought process, growing and planting trees was considered a kind of social-cultural act in Indian society and culture. If you want the earth to remain green, rivers to flow continuously like streams of nectar, and humanity to remain intact, then trees should be worshipped and Mother Earth should be given its due respect.

IMG_20210112_142109.jpg

When algae grew in slightly clean water and consumed sunlight, they obtained energy from atmospheric carbon dioxide for their growth. The waste product released in this process became oxygen gas. As a result, vegetation began to grow and expand on Earth. As a result, the number of plants on Earth started increasing.

With the increase in oxygen on Earth, oxygen-breathing organisms continued to expand, and the rest became extinct. Humans use oxygen for food digestion and perform physical activities with that energy, and in this process, they expel carbon dioxide as waste.

IMG-202311160006.jpg

On the other hand, the trees and plants present on Earth consume that carbon dioxide and obtain their food and energy. The balance of life has arisen from this transaction and consumption-production. Maintaining this balance is an essential condition for a healthy life.

The danger of air pollution is increasing because, in the last two centuries, forests have been destroyed more in the name of development. With the beginning of industrialization and the process of globalization, this pace of destruction of nature has been increasing rapidly. As a result, the number of forests in the world has decreased, especially in tropical areas, where forests are being cut indiscriminately. The number of trees left in the world is decreasing rapidly, and more trees are being cut than we plant in a year.

DSC09352.JPG

The main reason for global warming is the cutting of trees, and do you know? There has been an 84 percent increase in the incidents of forest fires around the Amazon River in Brazil. In the race for development, fossil fuels are being burned indiscriminately for energy. As a result, carbon dioxide is increasing. It is a greenhouse gas, and as a result, it easily blocks the sunlight from reaching the earth, which increases the heat of the earth.

The increase in carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is like trapped heat, which is increasing the temperature of the earth and is becoming the main cause of global warming. This increasing gaseous imbalance has destroyed the climate of the planet.

DSC09362.JPG

This was the natural flow of life, which arose along with life on earth by establishing a balance made of thousands of years of patient activities. But we have shattered this balance completely; therefore, the original inhabitants of the earth (trees) will have to take charge themselves for the said balance again.

Trees should be saved since they are the permanent protective shield of the earth.

Trees become the primary means of removing all the deficiencies in the earth. Trees, plants, and vegetation provide us with everything from fruits and flowers to medicines and essential life elements, and even homes and accommodations that provide facilities for rest and relaxation.

Trees are great protectors of the environment. The inexhaustible store of oxygen is dependent on these trees without which humans can't survive. Trees and plants create fuel reserves, the leaves of the tree fall on their own and provide fertility to other plants.

Trees provide raw material for paper for everyday needs. Trees are great protectors of the environment. The leaves and upper branches of trees and plants act as a duct system for the sun's rays to nourish moisture or water particles from within the earth.

DSC09360.JPG

The sun's rays contribute to rain by absorbing water particles from rivers and oceans. This rain is necessary for both environmental protection and greenery. Trees are spread on the earth like the matted roots of life. Trees are the symbol of life on earth, without which life on earth is impossible. Trees are the source of oxygen and food for everyone. Trees fulfil the essential needs that support life.

From air, water, fuel, energy, healthy soil, and a clean sky to numerous medicines and many sources of life protection and promotion, trees are a legacy of Mother Earth. Trees on earth benefit every living being, both directly and indirectly. Trees and planet Earth affect each other because they are dependent on each other. Trees strengthen the earth by purifying air, soil, and water.

Trees have special importance for life, as all the living beings on earth are dependent on trees. Trees affect our physical and mental health, along with the environment. Trees absorb carbon dioxide from the air by doing the photosynthesis process from sunlight, and they make the atmosphere clean by releasing oxygen into it. During rainy season, the roots of trees hold the soil firmly so the risk of natural disasters is reduced.

DSC03050.JPG

Shade from trees prevents water from evaporating from the ground. It keeps the environment cool. Trees play the most important role in improving the quality of gases in the atmosphere. Dry leaves of trees become manure and make the land and barren land fertile.

Trees provide shelter to many living beings, and plants also provide food to many living beings. Trees keep the environment around us beautiful, clean, and picturesque, and they make our lives comfortable. Trees are the original inhabitants of the earth! Trees are the natural habitats of birds.

There is no denying that trees are our best friends. They help provide us with oxygen, absorb carbon dioxide, and provide countless benefits to humans as a whole. I have planted enough trees in both my houses in the countries where I live.

20230127_130858.jpg

Trees are beneficial for every living creature. Trees are the whole world of birds, and due to the cutting of trees, the danger of extinction of innocent birds from the world has been increasing for the last few decades. Trees are the natural home of many people and wild animals. Trees and plants provide us with different types of facilities ranging from oxygen to lush green vegetables, fruits and flowers, and wood used in various works.

The natural disasters we face today, such as earthquakes, tsunamis, famine, drought, excessive rainfall, and excessive temperature, are caused by environmental imbalance. Air pollution is continuously increasing at a rapid pace. The only way to control it is to plant trees. Therefore, more and more trees and plants will have to be planted, and everyone will have to be made aware.

20230127_131024.jpg

The need of the day is that we conserve forests. Make society aware of tree conservation and tree plantation. Trees and plants are the basis of life on Earth and are not found on any other planet. That is why trees are called green gold. Trees absorb pollution from the earth. Trees and plants give us fruits, flowers, vegetables, wood, shade, water, air, and medicines. It is the trees that give us a clean environment.

Trees keep the environment free from natural disasters such as floods, earthquakes, hailstorms, droughts, and pollution, which are human disasters. Trees and plants prevent poisonous, unhealthy, and fatal natural gases from dissolving in the atmosphere. They absorb even the fine particles of ash and sand.

Trees reduce the level of dust by 75 percent. They reduce any kind of noise by 50 percent. Trees also have life. They also fall sick, laugh, and talk like humans. When they are sad, weak, and sick, they start giving less oxygen.

IMG-202401070017.jpg

Any region is also known for the beauty, wonder, form, color, size, qualities, and demerits of trees. Trees have their own specialties. This is the reason why some trees, fruits, flowers, and leaves participate in social activities during worship, marriages, festivals, and other special occasions. For example, Peepal Tree, Banyan Tree, Ashoka Tree, Mango Tree, Coconut Tree, Neem Tree, Banana Tree, Holy Basil, etc.

SALUDOS.

So true, we humans are so selfish that we do not wake up unless something hits us hard. I guess if do not wake up today, it will be too late and there will be nothing but destruction. We are using natural resources so ruthlessly, there will be nothing left for the coming generations. Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks a lot, I am not sure how this comment remained unanswered but you're right. Trees have their own importance and we should know that.
