Welcome again to another phase of the crypto Academy week. The week is filled with much outpouring of knowledge from the professor where he talked about SuperTrend Indicator. And I will be talking briefly about the assignment given concerning this very topic. I want to once again appreciate the professor in the person of @stream4u for his continuous guidance and correction.

What is A SuperTrend Indicator?

SuperTrend indicator is an indicator in form of a line that is used on an asset chart to show the price of an item on the chart. It shows when to buy and also sell an item. It is important to mention here that no one indicator is 100% efficient. Most often than know it is associated with the error. When the line is above the current price of an asset, it indicates a sell of an asset whereas whenever the line is below the current price it indicates the buy of an asset.

To set up SuperTrend on a chart is quite easy. I will be using the trading view to show us how to set up SuperTrend and also I will briefly show us the settings required. So follow the steps lay down below to get it right.

• visit tradingview.com
• select fx indicator
• you will see a search menu
• search SuperTrend (a list of all SuperTrend will appear select which you want to use.)

• Select settings on SuperTrend.
• A dialogue box will appear to make the necessary adjustment and click ok

As earlier stated, the SuperTrend indicator shows buy when the indicator line is below the current price of an asset and shows sell when the indicator line is above the current price of an asset.

Every good trader will always want to maximise his or her profit and minimise his or her loss. From the little research on this very topic, it is advisable to place a buy when the SuperTrend line is below the current price of an asset.

From the use of the SuperTrend indicator, it sends a signal to sell when the line is above the current price of an asset as seen in the screenshot below;

False Indications are scenario where users have to be very careful while using the SuperTrend line. Because a lot of false information may be given to you as regard buying and selling. The screenshot below shows the false indications of the SuperTrend line on the Chart.

According to your view what Stoploss you will suggest?

I will suggest that when dealing with SuperTrend, one should not be in a rush to make a transaction whether buying or selling. Recall that we discussed false but and false sell signal, hence to avoid been a victim you have to carefully check and be certain you are on the right track before making any transaction.
