Crypto Academy / Season 3 / Week 2 - Homework Post for [@stream4u]

Hello everyone, I am much honored to be part of this week's crypto homework task. It is yet another season with the professor @stream4u in the steemit crypto academy homework task. And this week with the professor is all about Crypto Prices & Market Source - COINMARKETCAP.COM. The above mention is the topic to be discussed for the week. So in this regard, I will be making my analysis and research based on this for this homework post.

I will like to start the homework task by answering the question following the preambles as the questions being asked by the professor.

Question One: What Is Coinmarketcap.com? (Minimum 80 words needed)

The coinmarketcap is a well-renowned and popular app or tool in the crypto world, which actually gives account to all the necessary details one will want to have about any crypto asset. This tool or app was noticed in the year 2013 and their working department as the headquarters is said to be located in the United States of America. One only needs a block explorer and a functional website to have access to this coinmarketcap. It is free to use and one does not any charges to anyone when you want to use this site to have any kind of information about any crypto asset you want to learn about. I will be providing a screenshot of the home interface of the coinmarketcap where you can actually see what it entails as described in my summary. It shows current prices of assets, uptrends, and falls of these same crypto assets on a current basis. You can also visit to know what actually happen some few hours, days, weeks, months, and years ago with the help of this coinmarketcap. This tells us how this tool is useful.

Queestion two: How Coinmarketcap.com useful for Crypto User/Trader?

Here in this question, the coinmarketcap has got a lot of benefits to the trader and also the user as well which I will be mentioning their benefits in this context and also I will be providing some screenshots to back my evidence.

I will say that, the coinmarketcap provides a lot of information on assets that as the price of the assets, Circulating Supply, market capitalization, Rank of crypto assets in the system and so many other necessary information is being provided by this site or tool.

Now let's look at these terms individually. here I will pick a few of the tools and talk about them, this will actually be a proof its usefulness to the user or traders in the crypto world.
Let's talk about them;

Market capitalization

Market capitalization can be denied as the total value of an asset that has been mined. We see these terms whenever you open the window of the app but much attention is not always paid to it. But it has a lot of information for traders. This they can actually know the number of assets that have been mined.
The market capitalization is said to be calculated by the product of the total assets in circulation at moment and the price per unit of the asset. A prove f this will be shown in the screenshot below. The coinmarketcap actually holds information on all assets based on their capitalization and this asset at the same time are ranked on this market capitalization. I will be using Steem crypto asset. I will actually show me the market capitalization and also rank this crypto asset.

Circulating Supply

This can be explained in simple terms as the supply of assets available for trading at that moment. This means that, at the point of trading, the trader or user can always check in through the coimarketcap to know the assets his trading on, how much supply has been made at the moment. Knowing this will sometimes encourage traders to do them or invest in their trades. This is another useful thing about the coinmarketcap.

Price

In terms of price, the coinmarketcap actually gives the live price of every asset listed on the platform. It is also able to update the price variations as a result of its ability to confirm the price variations from other exchanges and then update the site so users or traders can know the current prices of assets they will like to buy. We can also see another usefulness of the coinmarketcap. I will again show the price of STEm at the time I was working on my homework task.

Watchlist

The watchlist is also another great feature of the coinmarketcap whis is able to show or allow users to keep track of their favorite crypto assets to, this way they are able to monitor its market behaviour over time. With the watchlist, so since the traders can track their assets in here, it is also another useful importance of thee coinmarketcap, Below is a screenshot of my watchlist.

Portfolio

This is also another great feature of the coinmarketcap which allows traders to actually put all the assets they have possession of in one place so it can be monitored and tracked. This feature actually holds all the assets the the traders or users have. This feature is also another useful importance of thee coinmarketcap.

Question Three: Explain the Individual Page for each Crypto Coin on CoinMarketCap.

The coinmarketcap is made such that, you can actually have all the necessary details you need about any asset. But before, you will have to navigate through all the pages to actually know what those pages entails and what actually they can do. I will list a number of them and then navigate through to be able to give you the necessary details and screenshots you need to know.

First of all, lets talk about the

Overview

This page actually gives information to the trader about the trader the general information of the coin such as graphical price in three forms thus Price, market cap and trading view. That not withstanding, it also gives a great information about the rank, market dominance, volume, 24 hrs trading volume, price change and some additional information needed.

Historical Data

This page gives information or display recorded daily price movement and transaction flow. It brings information about how this coin started and some basic details about the assets. It shows the open price of the day and close price of the day

Market

This is where assets are in terms of prices between exchanges. The market contains a lot of information about assets. it also shows the difference in prices, volume, volume percentage, confidence level and liquidity. It also makes available options to choose a better exchange to use for an asset.

News

This is where all the necessary news you need to know about the crypto world is being provided. Here Information about all the assets in the crypto world is shown in the news page for traders or users to read and learn.

Socials

Ratings

Here, a lot of information is given about the assets which is the based on criteria. These are User activity, Developer behavior and Market maturity. The health status of STEEM is 668 out of 1000. It has been analysed by the page shown below.

Analysis

In analysis, the necessary information about the various statistics which is needed to determine the place of the asset at any point at all or anytime is made available. This is where the position of the assets is determined in the market as to whether is said to be bearish or bullish and able to make information for users of what profit they might make.

Question Four: Explain in detail any 5, what are the CORE Features and Sub Features available on Coinmarketcap.com? (Any 5 including Core & Sub Feature, Do Not Include Block Explorer & Uniswap Feature

In this part of the homework task, I will like to talk about the core features and some sub-core features available in the coinmarketcap. My submissions are made below.

The Cryptocurrencies is the host or parent of all what you need about the core and sub-core features in this task. It holds all the necessary information about all assets. Here are some features that can be found in the cryptocurrencies as host; Ranking, Recently Added, Ledger Tender Countries, Global Charts, Fiat/Companies rankings, Spotlights, Gainers and Losers and Historical snapshots

As I have mentioned this, I will like to talk about Ranking as one of the features.

Ranking

This is one of a feature, not just a feature but a sub-core feature in the cryptocurrencies which holds information about the all listed cryptocurrencies in the coinmarketcap. This are ranked based on the market capitalization.

Gainers and Losers

It is known that, cryptocurrencies are not stable, they are volatile, this sub-core feature is able to determine the token which has been able to gain or loose taking into consideration time factor. Whetthe the last 24 hours or even more.
This feature is used by traders or users for their trading purposes.

Recently Added

This is another sub-core feature that consists of crypto assets which has just been added as a recent asset to the platform. All details of the assets are added as well, talk of their price, trading volume, blockchain network, the time it was added and so on

Legal Tender Countries

This feature has the ability to check on which country has allowed cryptocurrency as a legal tender. El Salvador is the only and first county to allow crryptocurrency to be a legal tender in the country.

###Exchanges

Here, its another core feature of the coinmarketcap which has the ability to list of all listed exchanges on the platform offering several type of assets' trading. This also has some other sub-core features which are; Spot, Derivatives, DEX and Where to Buy.

Spot

Under this feature, it reveals all the exchanges that offers spot trading which is also one of the sub-core features of the exchanges.

Question Five: How or when Coinmarketcap.com decides to list a Coin?

This is a self test question, I have been able to make my research and I came out with some keys things that a crypto assets needs to undergo before it can be listed in the coinmarketcap. Which is what I will be discussing below.

1. Information about the asset should be verifiable or geniu. This serves as a building block for that token, so it must contain the right details of the token.

2. cClaims t must be variable before proceeding to starting an application, a very important notice.

3. It must have social media platforms and their official website platform, like a server controlling it.

4. There should be Representatives in which contact can be made when there is a problem.

5. The asset must have an active website/ blockchain explorer.

6. The asset must be traded and, publicly known and also must be actively be traded on one of the exchanges that has been listed on Coinmarketcap.

The Coinmarketcap is a well recommend tool so before one need to get involve in the listing of this tokens or assets. It should meet this requirents stated. There are still more but for the purpose of this content, I will live the summary of this 6 points.

Question Six: How or when Coinmarketcap.com decides to list Exchange?

Exchanges are supposed to meet a requirement before it can be listed into the platform. I will be mentioning some of this below;

1. An exchange should have an official website and an API that generates 24hr volume and lst price of an asset.

2. An exchange should provide its social media platform or any other medium to which they can be contacted on such an official email.

3. An exchange should be able to present a representative from the team that Coinmarketcap can communicate with as regards clarification.

4. Also, an exchange needs to have a working website with a trading volume of all time which matches the data of its API

5. Moreso, placing order on an exchange should be easy for traders to do. They should be easy access to market pairs without being have to login.

6. Another reason is Exchange's community interest/engagement.

Question Seven: What is the purpose of the Uniswap feature on the Coinmarketcap.com site and how a trader can use it?

First and foremost, I will like to tell you what Uniswap is. It is said to be a decentralized exchange that allow users to swap ERC-20 tokens of choice without the intervention of the centralized system or third party involvement.

Uniswap has its involvement on the coinmarketcap because Uniswap is incorporated on Coinmarketcap, is for users or traders to make a quick swap of their ERC-20 tokens which requires no intermediaries for the swapping process or The integration of Uniswap into the coinmarketcap allows users a smooth way of exchanging crypto asset with the connection of ethereum wallet

STEPS IN NAVIGATING THE UNISWAP, HOW TO ALSO CONNECT TO A WALLET

There are steps involved in this, which I will be giving you all the tips you need to do this.

1. You first of all visit the coinmarketcap site and once the landing page loads, you will need to locate the SWAP button around the right buttom corner.

2. I will now Connect Wallet to connect my wallet of choice. I have a metamask wallet account, even though I have nothing stored. But for the purpose of crypto task, i saved it.
   So I will use metamask for showing my swapping.

1. in order to procced, I will select the metamaks to connect with the Uniswap DEX

1. It will take sometime to initiate or load and connect, you will have to insert your password for it to coonnect.

1. Once is done my interface will show

1. I want to swap ETH and the UNI, and I want to Swap 12 ETH for UNI though I have no ETH in my wallet.

Swapping 12ETH for UNI, I had 1228.2242 UNI

These are the steps you can follow to navigate the Unisawp witht the help of Metamask.

Question Eight: hat is Blockchain Explorer? What Information available under Blockchain Explorer? How many Blockchain Explorer available on Coinmarketcap.com & How it helps users? If you are using any one of the Blockchain from the available list then show with the screenshot how you will use this feature?

Blockchain Explorer

Blockchain Explorer can be defined to be a software which is built to collect, arrange and store data from transactions that takes place in a platform for reference purposes. It utilizes the API and some other blockchain nodes, these nodes enables different data from the blockchain and able to present it in a well arranged format that can be searchedand found easily. But some group of people define the Blockchain Explorer as a search engine as a result of what it does.

Having explained what a block explorer is, I will like to list or mention the information the block explorer consist.

Addresses involved in transactions, Latest blocks, Price, Transaction volume, Hash rat, Number of transactions for the day, Value of the transaction and then the Type of transaction (Transfer or smart contract) and some other details.

How many Blockchain Explorer available on Coinmarketcap.com & How it helps users?

In the coinmarketcap, there are four blockchain explorers which I will mention them, we have Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and Binance coin. Below is a screenshot as prove.

How to use Binance Coin explorer on Coinmarketcap

You can do this by selecting any block you will want to explore from the list. In my case I will be using Ethereum.

1. You will need to click on the Ethereum Coin explorer, below it, you will find a three dotted lines, you will click on it to see more blocks, these are View blocks, view transactions and view market data. Screenshot below.

• I select the view transactions to navigate through it.

• I will again select the blocks to navigate through it.

In here, you will find the Hash ID, hash ID of the transactions and to see the details and the amount of you will have to select one of them Hash ID. So I selected the sencod for the Ethereum

Conclusion

I willlike to conclude by sayin that, this was a great choice of topic. I really enjoyed making my research around the choice of topic. I think I had a lot of experice already in using it. I will like to conclude by saying that,

it is an undeniable fact that, the coinmarketcap provide all details about cryptocurrencies listed on the platform including the exchanges that offers the assets' trading and that allow users to get detailed information about different assets available in the market.

Breaking it further down, it was nice talkng about the core features and sub-core features of this site which atually forms part of providing this requisite details to the site and to the user and traders as well.

Moreso, it is able to adjust in cases where the parties involved are not Englsih speaking countries. It gives opportunities to varities of languages that you can actually make good use of.

I will like tothank the professor so much for the topic. If I am to speak more on this, I wont end my summary, the coinmarketcap is a great tool or a great site and has so many importance. The benefits will definately outweigh the side effects.
