Explain indebtedness and ownership in the Steem network. Explain this concept in the centralized fiat world.

Both debt and ownership are significant concepts that are handled differently in the Steem Network (a blockchain-based social media platform) compared to the centralized fiat (traditional) financial system.

Steem Debt:

In the Steem Network indebtedness refers to the amount of STEEM which is a cryptocurrency used for transactions on the Steem blockchain that one person or entity owes to another. When users borrow or lend STEEM they can create a smart contract which is like a digital agreement that records the terms of the loan. Smart contracts are special because they can automatically execute themselves based on the code written in them.

Using smart contracts on the Steem Network has several benefits. It increases transparency meaning that all the terms and conditions of the loan are visible to both parties involved. It also enhances security because the code of the smart contract ensures that the loan is executed as agreed upon minimizing the risk of fraud or manipulation. Additionally smart contracts automate certain processes such as transferring funds between the borrower and lender making the management of debt more efficient and less reliant on manual intervention.

Ownership:

On the Steem network ownership is documented and handled using digital tokens. These tokens are virtual assets that can represent ownership rights over specific assets or the platform itself. On the Steem network there are different types of tokens available including STEEM Steem Power (SP) and Steem Dollars (SBD).

STEEM is the main cryptocurrency of the Steem blockchain. It can be traded transferred and used for purchasing goods and services within the platform. Steem Power (SP) is a token that represents ownership in the network. It is primarily used for voting on content and proposals within the Steem network. Steem Dollars (SBD) is a stablecoin meaning its value is pegged to the US dollar. SBD can be used for buying goods and services on the Steem blockchain.

The use of tokens on the Steem network brings various advantages. It creates new markets and business models opening up opportunities for users to engage in economic activities. Tokens also provide flexibility and efficiency in managing ownership rights as they can be easily transferred and tracked on the blockchain.

Ownership on the Steem network is recorded using digital tokens which represent different types of ownership rights. These tokens can be used for trading voting and making purchases on the platform. They make it easier to manage ownership and create new economic possibilities for users.

Main Difference Between both:

The primary distinction between the Steem network and the centralized fiat world lies in the decentralized and distributed nature of blockchain technology. In the Steem network debt and ownership can be handled without relying on intermediaries like banks and financial institutions. However the use of blockchain technology also introduces new challenges such as the need for secure storage of private keys (used to access and manage digital assets) and the potential vulnerabilities of smart contracts (self-executing digital agreements).

If the ratio (SBD Debt/Steem ownership) is high, how does it affect the Steem price?

If the ratio of SBD Debt to STEEM ownership is high it indicates that the amount of debt in SBD is significantly greater than the ownership of STEEM. This imbalance affects the 50:50 reward distribution mechanism.

When the SBD Debt/STEEM ownership ratio is high it means that there is a large amount of debt in SBD compared to the ownership of STEEM. This can lead to a change in the way rewards are distributed deviating from the usual 50:50 distribution model.

Firstly a high ratio of SBD Debt to STEEM ownership can result in an oversupply of STEEM in the market. When users have a significant amount of debt they may need to sell their STEEM to repay those debts. This increased selling pressure can lead to a decrease in demand for STEEM and ultimately cause its price to drop.

Secondly a high ratio of SBD Debt to STEEM ownership can result in a decrease in confidence in the Steem platform. When users observe a significant amount of debt within the platform they may become hesitant to invest in STEEM or utilize the platform. This loss of confidence can subsequently lead to a decrease in demand for STEEM and ultimately cause its price to decline.

Lastly a high ratio of SBD Debt to STEEM ownership can result in a decrease in the value of Steem Dollars (SBD). SBD is pegged to the US dollar and is used for buying goods and services on the Steem platform. When there is a significant amount of SBD debt within the platform it can cause the value of SBD to decline relative to the US dollar. This in turn makes it more expensive to use the Steem platform since the purchasing power of SBD decreases. Consequently this decrease in demand for SBD can also lead to a decrease in the price of STEEM.

Therefore it is essential for the Steem community to effectively manage debt levels on the platform to ensure the long-term health and stability of the Steem ecosystem. By keeping the SBD Debt to STEEM ownership ratio low the platform can maintain confidence and demand among users which in turn helps support the price of STEEM.

What mechanism does the Steem blockchain use to control the debt/ownership ratio?

The Steem blockchain has a mechanism called the "debt ratio" that regulates the amount of debt allowed on the platform in relation to the ownership. Its objective is to ensure that the total amount of Steem Dollars (SBD) in circulation does not exceed a specific percentage of the overall market capitalization of STEEM.

If the debt ratio exceeds a predetermined limit the blockchain automatically triggers a process called "debt conversion." This process involves converting a portion of the circulating Steem Dollars (SBD) into STEEM to decrease the overall amount of debt on the platform.

The debt ratio mechanism plays a crucial role in maintaining the stability of the Steem ecosystem. If there is excessive debt it can have a negative impact on the demand for STEEM and user confidence in the platform. By controlling the level of indebtedness on the platform the Steem blockchain can prevent an oversupply of STEEM and ensure its long-term stability.

To calculate the market cap of SBD

SBD MC = 29,277,309.01

STEM MC = 96,374,798.2

Debt ratio = (29,277,309.01/ 96,374,798.2) × 100/1

Debt ratio = 30%

Suerte y exitos

You have explained about debt and ownership. But there is no analysis formulation in your post. By the way when debt rate is high then there will be increase in level of risks and demand of Steems will be low and price effects badly.

Thank you for this post m if you have time kindly visit my post. Good luck for the contest.

Thank you so much

It's my pleasure.

Nice to see your post my dear friend. You were try to do your best for this Post. I wish you gain more knowledge about crypto with us. keep up the good work.

Dear friend

Knowing and sharing knowledge is good, you have made good efforts but still there are discrepancy. You can improve it by increasing your knowledge about debt and ownership.

Overall you made good efforts i appreciate it.

Wish you success

Thank you so much @drhira

You are welcome brother

Hi brother,

I am glad that you have shared your post but lack important things in first question which are necessary. Like Steem is our ownership on steemit and we are getting SBDs as debt. No one can take Steem or Steem power from us but we need to convert SBDs through internal market or external market converting into Steem.

You have explained other questions very well. Especially you have shared clear steps for Steem to SBD and SBD to Steem conversion. I wish you success for your participation. Best of luck.

Thank you so much dear @ashkhan

You're welcome brother
