Already in the third week of @yohan2on's homework, this week we will talk about centralized and decentralized applications although before we start I will give you a brief explanation about these applications:

Decentralized (Dapps)

These applications also known as Dapps are applications based on blockchain technology which means that these applications do not have a central computer that controls them or a company that verifies what is published so you can publish anything and you are rewarded monetarily in different cryptocurrencies.

Centralized

These applications are the most known by people and although the security is little because they are controlled by a central server that is aware of everything that is published some of the applications that have such servers is facebook, youtube, google and others, although these applications no monetary reward to its users.

These are the two definitions of these two terms, now I will explain the difference between decentralized and centralized applications and you will have their characteristics and you will be able to define which of the two is better for you, I will give you 3 different platforms. In the category of social networks I will give you the brief but very exact explanation, steemit and facebook:

Facebook

Social networks are structures formed on the Internet by people or organizations that connect on the basis of common interests or values. Through them, relationships between individuals or companies are created quickly, without hierarchy or physical boundaries.

This is a social network created several years ago whose headquarters is located in Menlo Park California USA. We say that this is a centralized network because it has a central server where several people control what is published, although this network has become a multimillionaire to its owner by working with advertising for different marketing companies still not reward its users monetarily.

Merit

• Free advertising assistance to new companies.

• It works as a means of communication for people in different countries.

• It also works as a means of communication for news.

Demerit

• It has many advertising icons as this is one of its earning methods.

• It controls each publication and can block its users depending on their publication.

• It can be easily hacked and shows other users their personal information.

Steemit

This is a decentralized publication (Dapps) because they do not have a server as such, here the deal is direct from person to person, this application rewards its users with two currencies that are Steem and Tron the reward is for the curator and the author, with the help of users who also help to vote.

Merits

• Provides monetary rewards to users.

• This application is decentralized so that person-to-person contact is direct.

• It is difficult to hack a user's account.

Demerit

Little known so it doesn't have the same users as facebook.

Brave Browser

It is a decentralized application built in 2016 created with the function of protecting the privacy of its users has a cryptocurrency to reward users for viewing ads but that if all while respecting the privacy of both.

Merits

• It is fast as it has no advertisement.

• It rewards its users with cryptocurrencies.

• You can not get more information than necessary from each user.

Demerit

• It is not as popular as Chrome as not everyone can use it.

Google Chrome

This is an excellent browser widely used because it is fast and easy to use, has different functions that are very useful, since its launch in 2018 was accepted by all users.

Merits

• An excellent platform for marketing use

• Millions of users worldwide use it and it helps us to stay in touch with each other.

Demerit

• It does not reward its customers.

• It is a centralized application so it has a server that stores all your personal information.

• It is not as fast as Brave because it has a lot of advertising.

Conclution

Let's say that many still do not know the definition of centralized and decentralized so far, although when decentralized applications become better known many will realize that these applications will control the future as they are the best option to protect your personal information and still reward you monetarily. People will see which of the two is more secure when they realize this, for the moment the most advisable thing is that we all help more people to know these applications and thus bring more people to this interesting world of decentralized applications or better known as Dapps.
