Steemit Crypto Academy Contest / S10W2 - Bots in the STEEM Chain
Hi Steemians, I am glad to be participating in the Steemit engagement contests of Season 10. I hope this season will be a source of fun for us. I am very thankful to the Crypto Academy professors for organising this beautiful contest. Today's topic is about voting bots and I will try my best to answer all the questions properly so lets start.
What is a voting bot in Steemit and how does it work?
We all know that Steemit is a platform that rewards quality content on the basis of proof of brain (POB). On the Steem blockchain, voting bots refers to the services that give us paid upvotes. These bid-bots have a large amount of Steem power in their wallets, and they only use this SP for paid votes.
Some bid-bot services take cryptocurrency from us in the form of STEEM, SBD, etc. for giving us upvotes on our posts, and some services take delegation from us for giving us upvotes. These bots do not follow the proof of brain mechanism for voting and give only paid votes on our posts, which is totally wrong.
As I said above, Steemit is a platform that only supports quality content, but these bid-bots do not see the quality of the post and can give paid votes on a post whose quality is poor. These voting bots do not completely follow the Steem blockchain rules for curation because they manipulate the rewards.
These voting bots are not available only on Steemit; they are also available on other similar blogging platforms, and their function is the same there too. Some bid-bot services on Steemit are upvu, tipu, upmewhale, coin-doubler, nutbox.mine, successgr.with, upex, and many others.
Now we will discuss the workings of these voting bots. These bid-bot services take delegations from the different users on Steemit and do voting on their behalf. A higher delegation means a higher power of vote. But every voting bot has its own method to distribute the rewards among the delegators.
Some bots give votes to the users according to their rules, who delegate their Steem power to that bot, and some bots generate rewards and distribute them on a weekly basis among the delegators. So this is my explanation of the voting bots on Steemit and their working method.
Is it worth using the bid bots to get upvotes in Steemit?
No, it is totally wrong to use voting bots on Steemit because the voting bots are totally against the Steemit rules, and these bots manipulate the rewards. Imagine a user working very hard to create quality content to get support, and on the other hand, a user gets a paid vote on its post. I think this is not a valid thing, and it is unfair to quality content creators.
On Steemit, content with good quality and content with low quality have a lot of differences. Voting bots allow Steemit users to purchase votes, which increases the visibility of a user's content. The voting bots do not see the quality of the post, which hides the quality content on Steemit, and it is not valid that low-quality content is visible more than high-quality content.
Another bad thing about it is that it means a person who has money can buy upvotes and increase the visibility of their posts, which is totally wrong. This means that only money has power, and quality content has no power. Considering all these things, I don't consider it worth using voting bots for upvotes on the Steemit platform.
Why are posts with bid-bot upvotes still downvoted on Steemit and why does Steemit still punishes it's users for upvoting with bots
Every platform has some rules and regulations that it follows, and I already mentioned above that Steemit is a platform that rewards only quality content on the basis of proof of brain mechanisms. In answer 2, I also explained how voting bots hide quality content and promote low-quality content.
We know that one of the rules of the Steemit team is that the team does not support users who use bid-bot services for upvotes. And it is a very good rule from the Steemit team, because using voting bots for upvotes is a total injustice to the quality content creators, and the Steemit team cannot bear it.
So getting paid votes means breaking the rules of the Steemit team, and the platform will surely punish the user who tries to break its rules and regulations. As voting bots have a lot of disadvantages for the platform, because it is not valid, and the Steemit team does not support the user who uses bid-bots.
How did Steemit do to combat bid-bot accounts
The Steemit team is always against bid-bot users and services, and this is the reason the team always tries their best to adopt such steps that reduce the use of voting bots on the platform. The users who are using the bots are discouraged on the platform, and they are not selected for any important roles like Steem Representatives, Community Curators, etc.
When the Steemit team noticed that the number of users using the voting bots on the platform was increasing, they introduced mechanisms like flagging posts and downvoting them. So if we find any such posts that do not deserve the level of support that they have gotten from the bots, we can flag them and also downvote them, which is a type of discouragement for them.
The Steemit team always encourages users to participate in original and unique projects to increase the number of users who are doing organic and original work. This work can be in the form of quality posts, engagement, curation, reading, or interaction with other users of the platform. So the users are encouraged to participate in such an initiative and not be involved in the vote-buying services.
Advantages and disadvantages of voting bots in Steemit
Everything has some advantages and disadvantages. Voting bots also have advantages and disadvantages, which are given below.
Advantages
One of the main advantages of using voting bots is that they increase the visibility of the content of the Steemit user.
Users can get quick rewards for their posts by using voting bots on Steemit because bots vote quickly.
Another benefit of using voting bots is that a user can increase their reputation very quickly as compared to a valid user.
Some users consider voting bots a return-on-investment option because they can earn money from their investment.
Disadvantages
Bots only give votes to the users who pay them, which is an unfair distribution of rewards.
Bots do not see the quality of the content for voting, which hides the quality content on Steemit.
It is totally against the proof-of-brain (POB) mechanism that the Steem blockchain uses for curation.
If a user uses bid-bot services, he can never be a quality content creator on the Steemit platform.

It's great to hear that the Steemit platoon is laboriously taking way to discourage the use of advancing bots on their platform. I agree that the use of bot voices is a violation of the rules set by Steemit. This is very detrimental to content creators who have published quality posts. The bot only rewards users who have paid a certain amount of SP In the form of delegates, while users who have created original content are ignored.

Bhai aapane bilkul theek kaha k hamare pass Jo voting bot hai woh sirf is platform per available Nahin hai balki baqi blogging platform per bhi available hai jo ki automatic system hai dusron ki post ko vote karne ka aur isase pahle user ko fees per karna padati hai bot ko ta k bot in return ya as a reward vote kr sky user ko aur ismein koi zabardasti wali baat nahin hai yah to user ki apni choice hai ki vah bot ko use karna chahta ya nahi karna chahta.

You have explained very well about the topic and give a excellent description about the bot system and you told us in detail these are not good in steemit growth and always discourage by steemit team nor these people may get good position in steemit team. Infact its their punishment to use bot system.
