Hi Friends!

It's a pleasure to take part in a contest on this noble community today, well I decided to start with it first because the topic is so interesting, and it will be informative! Both old but especially new ones in our midst will have the chance to learn something new, Well, I mean some users feel reluctant to delegate their Steem power to communities or fellow users because they don't understand what it means and they retreat. In this article, I will explain what delegation is, and why we should delegate some of our Steem power to communities and recruits.

🪷🪷🪷🪷🪷🪷🪷🪷

Explain in your own words the delegation process on the Steem blockchain, how does it work? What are its main goals? And is it a safe process?

Simply put Delegation on Steem means Lending or borrowing off our Steem power (SP) to a particular community/communities, Or fellow Users. It's a way of showing support or call it love to a community or a user, it means we have the community's or user's interest at heart and we want to see them grow.

There's no harm in delegating our Steem power to someone, we are just leveraging the community or user because the SP is still our own, I mean we are in full control of it, we can take it back anytime we want, it just that we are giving the community or the user more influence (power) that's all, but they can't touch the delegated Steem power.

The Process Of Delegation:

First of all we can't give what we don't have, so to delegate Steem power we must have it, and we get SP through Powering up of Steem Tokens. After that, we can delegate some of the SP using the Steemworld application:

Steps:

  • You log in to the app with your username
    https://steemworld.org/@goodybest

  • Under Stats you will find delegation, click on it, and it will open and you will see options like Incoming meaning the one other users giving you, Outgoing delegation which is the one you give, Expiring you're expired delegation, you can even set an expiry date when delegating, and when that day reach your SP will automatically return to your wallet then lastly Delegate.

  • Click on Delegate

IMG-20230710-WA0005.jpg

  • A new page will open for you to see the amount of your available SP, just type the name of the account you wanted to delegate to in the space provided.

  • Next type the amount of SP you want to delegate on the provided space as seen below.

IMG-20230710-WA0003.jpg

  • Click on Ok

  • A new confirmation page will open for you, click on yes.

IMG-20230710-WA0008.jpg

  • Then a new page will open for you to copy your active key and paste, yeah it is a transaction so you will need to authorise with this key.

IMG-20230710-WA0007.jpg

  • Click on Ok. And you're done, you will become a delegator to the community or user!

🪷🪷🪷🪷🪷🪷🪷🪷

Main Goals For Delegation:

1) Users Delegate to give a particular community more Influence because the higher the SP the higher or the more valuable reward that particular account can add on a post when voted. Yeah, you can call it community empowerment.

2) Users Delegate to gain profit, that's why some people have delegated to a bot.

3) Some people delegate out of love they just have the best interest of a particular community at heart, with nothing attached to it because most communities don't pay delegation rewards again as before.

The process of Delegation is safe, you don't need to panic because your active key is not saved anywhere during the process, and as I said before, you don't give your SP entirely, it's still yours and you can take it back or withdraw anytime you want.

🪷🪷🪷🪷🪷🪷🪷🪷

Have you ever delegated SP amount to a user or community before? If so, tell us, did you do so voluntarily or at the request of the party you delegated to it? And why did you withdraw your delegation?

Yes I've delegated my SP to numerous communities before, and even as I'm writing I'm a delegator to a few communities.

I delegate this SP voluntarily, just to empower these communities and help them to gain more influence and grow the community's account so that they can support their members with it. No interest is attached to it since communities couldn't give delegation rewards to their delegators. But they are free to support the posts which they've published in their communities.

I withdrew my delegation from many communities because the Admins became selfish and powered down the community's account and left, without thinking about the members and delegators of the community. It's usually heartbroken, it makes her members feel exploited especially if it's one that they've made an effort to build through setting of beneficiary reward to the account and delegation.

🪷🪷🪷🪷🪷🪷🪷🪷

Do you delegate SP without worrying about using it as long as you collect your daily or monthly fees?

I don't delegate for reward because I can Curate good posts by myself and earn a Curation reward. I delegate without any interest as, I said before communities no longer give delegation rewards except bot, so as long as a particular community has a well-defined purpose, it is supportive without partiality and bias, always appreciating quality posts then I will voluntarily delegate whatever I'm moved to.

Are you with or against the SP delegation to users without benefits in return? why? If you agree, on what criteria will your choice of user be based?

Well it depends, I mean I won't delegate to a particular user just For him/her to be paying me a reward because I'm still active in the platform so I can do the Curation by myself. On the other hand, I can delegate to a new User for free, this is because at times some new users might run out of Resource Credit due to low SP, and when this happens they can't make posts or comments. They will need a helping hand especially if they don't have money to buy tokens from exchange and power up, in this case, I can leverage the user by delegating some of my SP for him/her, after all, what are mentors for? This will help them to grow their account and be on their own.

I've been a beneficiary of Delegation when I joined newly, I ran out of resource credit and couldn't comment, I was disturbed and my mentor delegate some of her power for me to be able to explore, engaged and posts I've also delegated to some of my recruits before, it's a kind of empowerment, or lending a hand that's why I'm not against it.

Conclusion:

Delegation is not bad at all, instead it's an interesting concept in the ecosystem, some users will just give or lend freely, while others are in for business; lending to get a reward. Whichever way everyone has their decision to take.

I would like my friends @ruthjoe, @eliany @lhorgic to take part in this contest. Thank you!

You're absolutely right! Delegation can be a beneficial concept in various ecosystems. Some individuals may choose to delegate or lend their resources freely, while others may engage in delegation for business purposes, such as lending in exchange for rewards. Ultimately, the decision to delegate or not is up to each individual and their specific goals and preferences.

You made an excellent post to explain delegation on the Steemit Blockchain. You explained the process of delegation step by step that will be really helpful to those who don't know how to delegate and specially for new commer's. Best of luck for the contest dear.

Hi @suboohi! I`m here to help :) If you want to delegate, please make a comment (for example replay to this one) like this:
I want to delegate X sp to @user
Where X is the amount of SP and @user is the steem user you want to delegate to. For example:
I want to delegate 100 sp to @goodybest
@tipU will answer with a delegation link. Hope this helps!:)

I really appreciate your kind words ma'am, I really hope the post will help new users. Thank you so much for visiting me, and your good wishes means a lot for me. I appreciate you!
