Steemit Crypto Academy Contest Season 5 Week 2 - Get to know the Steem Blockchain

Greetings to the entire Steemit Crypto Academia community, very grateful for the support we have received from all who have participated in this first week that is culminating and reiterating the invitation to join in this 2nd week of this new challenge.

This week we want you to tell us about your experience in the Steem blockchain, for sure you have great teachings that you can share, and where together we can learn a little more about this blockchain so important for the world of decentralized social networks.

Contest theme: Get to know the Steem Blockchain

Steem blockchain started operating in the year 2016, being a new model of social networks, where every contributor in this blockchain can make a profit.

This blockchain has provided an alternative to social networks, where it provides a decentralized system, and also your participation in the blockchain can be rewarded

Each blockchain for its operation must have its consensus protocol and Steem has its consensus protocol, where a certain amount of witnesses are in charge of producing each block.

You have likely been using this blockchain for some time and we want to know your opinion about this blockchain and how it works.

What is the expectation of this challenge?

• Discuss the consensus protocol used in Steem, Proof of Delegated Participation. What are the differences between DPoS and PoW?

• How often does a block occur in Steem and how many tokens does it use? Discuss this topic.

• Do you know what was the first application to run on the Steem Blockchain? Discuss this application.

• What is Proof of Brain (PoB)?

Contest Guidelines

• Post your articles in the Steemit Crypto Academy community. The participation time is between Monday, October 17th, 2022, 00:00 UTC to Sunday, October 23rd, 2022, 23:59 UTC.

• The article should be at a minimum of 500 words. You can write more. Your article must be free of any form of plagiarism.

• Your article title should be Steemit Crypto Academy Contest / S5W2 - Get to know the Steem Blockchain. Add the tag #cryptoacademy-s5w2 and other relevant tags.

• Participants must be appropriately following #club5050 or #club75 or #club100.

• Participants must be verified and active users on the platform.

• The community moderators would be leaving quality assessments on your articles and probable upvotes.

• In addition, your article must get at least 10 upvotes and 5 valid comments to count as valid in the contest, so ensure you interact with other users' entries. Do not be involved in vote-buying.

Rewards

• SC01 would be checking on the entire 7 participating communities and upvoting outstanding content. Upvote is not guaranteed for all articles. Kindly take note.

• At the end of the week, we would nominate top 3 users that had performed well in the contest and they would be eligible for votes from SC01/SC02.

Important Notice: The nomination of the top 3 users in our community is not based on good grades alone, it includes their general engagements (quality and quantity of their interactions with other users' articles) to measure the overall performance. Also note that generally, you can only make one post per day in the Steemit Engagement Challenge.

Conclusion

Centralized social networks have captured the largest proportion of users, because of the advantages they offer to each user. However, decentralized networks offer another alternative to users, among these social networks we have the Steem blockchain.
