Hello everyone, hope you are all doing great. I welcome you all to my seventh homework task provided by @besticofinder. Thanks to @steemitblog for this awesome initiative. I will try to represent two cryptocurrencies (steem & hive) and do a fundamental analysis comparing each other.

"Basic Introduction of Steemit"

Steemit is a social network as well as a blogging platform. Steemit shares revenue with its users. This makes the basic difference between any other social media and Steemit. And in the case of this revenue sharing, the integration of a cryptocurrency called steem with Steemit comes to the fore. Steemit does not pay its users with regular fiat currency (money, dollar pound, euro). Instead, Steemit pays users with the help of steem cryptocurrency.

"Basic Introduction of Hive"

Hive is a similar blockchain to steem blockchain where everything that could be done on Steemit can be done. This blockchain is made up of a few small changes, keeping in mind the main subject matter of the Steem blockchain code.

"Background and History of Steemit"

The steem blockchain was created in 2016 to support steemit. The co-founder of the steemit was Ned Scott and Dan Larimer. In March 2017, Dan Larimer left the steemit. Last year, The co-founder Ned Scott handed over the steemit to Justin Sun, a high-profile Chinese tech entrepreneur and founder of Tron Foundation. A few months later, the Tron foundation officially announced the strategic integration of Tron and Steemit. Since then, users are receiving additional Tron rewards.

"Background and History of Hive"

After the attachment of Justin Sun with Steemit, the steemit community wasn't happy with this. They felt safe to leave steemit and they will create a new similar type blockchain where all the previous information of the steem blockchain, (who is transferring what, when doing all the data) will have all the proofs. Everyone will be given tokens equal to the balance in their steem blockchain. That's how the Hive was established.

"Delegated Proof of Stake(For Both seem & hive)"

Both steemit and hive work on Delegated Proof of Stake method. In this method, the witnesses are block producers. The witnesses are chosen by the votes of the general users. The most trusted and dedicated persons are working in these two blockchain to create blocks. This system is very modern and completely decentralized. Here 21 people are elected(20 main, 1 backup) as witnesses. A user can choose a maximum of 30 witnesses of which 21 are chosen democratically in steemit. The witnesses are rewarded 10% of the token they have made. On hive, there is a term called Decentralized Hive Fund (DHF). They also act as governer and decision-makers on the blockchain.

"Steemit Reward Pool"

When you create new content on Steem, you need to select how you want to receive the payment. Either you have to take 50% of the payment in Steem Token and 50% in Steem Dollar or you need to convert the entire payment to Steem Power. In that case, you will get the payment according to your holding power. Steem, Steem Power, and Steem Backed Dollar all sound similar, but there are some differences.

  • Steem

Steem is a cryptocurrency like bitcoin, litecoin, ripple, etc. It's a liquid currency that's tradeable, can be transferred also. It can be exchanged with other currencies too. Steem is called the basic token on the steemit blockchain.

  • Steem Backed Dollar(SBD)

SBD is the reward token of the steemit ecosystem. Users can exchange Steem with SBD also. SBD can be exchanged with other major currencies too.

  • Steem Power(SP)

Steem Power can be called Influence rating also. The more SP you own, you have the more influence on the blockchain. If you vote for someone else's post, how much Steem or Steem Dollar the post creator will get from this vote will depend on your own Steem Power. Creators will get less profit from your upvote if your Steem power is less and users will get more profit from your upvote if your Steem Power is more.

"Hive Reward Pool"

There is no fundamental difference between the steem and the hive, the only difference being the name, There is be Hive tokens instead of Steem tokens, Hive power instead of Steem power, and HBD instead of SBD. Apart from this, other functions are almost similar.

"Dapps Ecosystem"

Both the steemit and hive platforms host several dapps. Although the number of dapps on the steem blockchain is greater(88+), the number of dapps is increasing at a higher rate. The most known dapp of stem blockchain is steemit and on the hive is Peakd.

"Total Supply, All Time High, All Time Low(steem)"

If we look at the total supply the amount is 389,735,835 steem and the circulating supply is increasing day by day. It is now 372,761,741 steem. That means the total supply and circulating supply are almost the same. That shows a very positive growth that people are trading and doing investing. If we look at its all-time high, the coin touched its all-time high on Jan 03, 2018 (3 years ago) and its value become $8.57. Again if we look at an all-time low, its value almost touched $0.06919 on Mar 10, 2017 (4 years ago).

"Total Supply, All Time High, All Time Low(hive)"

If we look at the total supply the amount is 394,775,152 hive and the circulating supply is now 394,775,152 hive. That means the total supply and circulating supply are the same. That also shows a very positive growth that people are trading and doing investing like steem. If we look at its all-time high, the coin touched its all-time high today(3 years ago) and its value becomes $1.06. Again if we look at an all-time low, its value almost touched $0.08694 on April 06, 2020 (last year).

"Summary"

Both platforms are doing really great in their position. They are also holding a strong position in the crypto market. The alt season is yet to come. However, both these two tokens is performing pretty well. I am hoping that the token will reach its all-time high in the next three-four months. What's your opinion?? Comment below.
