I would say that both fantasy and mysticism have several similarities.

Let's start with Fantasy : Closely linked to imagination, we can fantasize about something that is real, for example having a vehicle that we have previously seen, we work to obtain the purchasing power to buy it.

Now another aspect of Fantasy : We can fantasize about something unreal , absurd in some situations , but that our mind takes it to a real plane , our mind creates unreal situations and circumstances that even something so unreal our mind elevates it to a real plane , for example , thinking that a woman is in love with us just because she stares at us , we observe the way she looks at us , but we fantasize with the idea of having her love and we even believe it .

Mysticism: Linked to the celestial, to the sacred, closely linked to GOD.

Here fantasy is very relevant since everything is created by our imagination, taking us to a very complex plane, for example, those people who kill in the name of GOD, create in their minds convictions that lead them to commit crimes and feel at ease since in their minds they imagine that this is Ok, that the religion they profess exempts them from any guilt.

Fantasy and Mysticism are related by our imagination, which plays a fundamental role leading us to believe that the unreal is real or in some situations turning the unreal into real on our own initiative.
