Sarah worked as a part-time cook after college every day in this restaurant. She was surprised when she saw this man sitting on the footpath in front of the restaurant that evening. He was a middle-aged man, around 53, in a worn-out pair of trousers and a shirt.
He was shivering but sitting unconcerned with the surroundings, looking at the sky. Then she shrugged her shoulders, thinking he was probably a homeless guy who had nowhere to go.
She felt for this man and gave him some leftover food after her shift that night. Then she saw him often sitting right in front of the restaurant, at the same spot, and felt pity for him. The man acknowledged her kindness every time she gave him food, and she also felt a sense of satisfaction.
He always said, "How kind of you, young lady."
That night, Sarah's shift was finally over at 10. She took off her apron and threw it in her cupboard. But before leaving for the house, she went into the kitchen to get the leftover food for John, the homeless.
As she stepped out of the door, she felt surprised because John was not there at his usual place. Tonight he was standing by the wall and gestured to Sarah to come close to him.
For a moment, Sarah hesitated a little. John was always happy to see her, accept the food she offered, and chat with her about her restaurant, her boss, and her education. But today, she thought he was behaving differently.

"That was a touching story and I must admit that you're a strong and a brave woman", John said. Sarah went further to ask him about his personal life then he told her that he has no home. He was married to his first wife at age 30, they had a son together. She divorced him and ran with their child probably because she saw someone more better for her. "I felt so useless for the first time in my life Sarah" he said. He spent a lot of money trying to look for them. He sold his properties and searched even the most dangerous places in this city just to see his wife and kid but to no avail.

"Two years since we divorced, you're the most nicest woman I've come acrossed. You treat me like you know me. I love how you smile too, it's reassuring. I need you in my life Sarah. I need you to straighten me", John said holding her hands. She smiled and told him that she feels sorry about everything he passed through and she thinks he took the wrong path and made the wrong decisions. Sarah took her hands off from him and said "A great man shouldn't be roaming on the street everyday. You should be thinking about how to get a solid job first and not having me in your life. I'll talk to my boss tomorrow so we can get a slot for you". He told her that he understands and thanked her for everything.

The next day, Sarah left for work early just so she could meet up with her boss. She told her boss everything about John and Alicia (her boss) agreed to let him be a part of her company. Sarah thanked Alicia for being so considerate. She closed from work that day, packed some left over food as usual to give to John. She broke the news to him after he was done eating. He seemed happy anyways.

First week of resumption, John seemed to have impressed all the customers and the managements with his good working skills. He invited Sarah to a date after several months of turning down his date offers. He touched her cheeks and told Sarah about how he feels about her. He's working now so he can take care of her. Sarah still took her time to study him and eventually agreed to being with him after 6 months. She was so in love with her hardworking and charming man. Although, John still lived in her apartment but she never made it seem like it's hers. She made him have so much comfort that they share everything she had. Their love life was so beautiful that he even promised to marry her.

After three months of being together with Sarah, things turned around when John started crushing on Alicia. He would sexually stare at his boss whenever he sees her. He finally summoned courage to approach her and asked her for a date in his apartment which she agreed on. Alicia wasn't aware that he was in a relationship with Sarah. They kept it cool from everyone because they had to remain professional.

There was a knock at the door, John opened the door and saw his boss. Sarah was on her shift that day so she won't be coming home till evening. He offered Alicia a sit whilst he ran to get her a drink. She wore a broad smile because he seemed really nice and friendly. He told her how much he adores her because she's a reserved and a commited lady since the first day he started working in her company but wasn't too confident to tell her because she's his boss. He felt intimidated. Alicia fell for it and told him that he shouldn't have thought that way. She was still about to say something else when John moved closer to her and frenched kiss her. She wasn't comfortable with everything so she shoved him to the other couch. She was about leaving when he pulled her back and tore her clothes. She pleaded because it was crazy to even scream but he told her to be calm. She struggled and fought him but he still succeeded in raping him. She left his house crying and didn't show up at work for two weeks.

Moses was becoming even more worried about their boss. He told Sarah he has a bad feeling for her being absence. She agreed to pay Alicia a visit after work that faithful day. (The bell rang) "Sarah, I'm surprised seeing you here. Hope you're good", Alicia said. Sarah responded saying she's a bit okay but they were anxious about her absenteeism. She pleaded with her boss to confine in her that she's not messy. Her boss reluctantly told her everything that transpired between her and John. Sarah screamed with her eyes brimming with tears. She felt betrayed while Alicia felt embarrassed and disappointed. Alicia just got to know that John is having an affair with her favourite cook in her restaurant. They both apologized to themselves and hugged.

Sarah rushed home that night to confront John about his misdeed. He denied ever even having anything to do with Alicia. She made him leave her house that night without his belongings. John begged for his luggages but she told him words that he will never forget. "Some homeless people like you does not truly deserve a home, your ungratefulness has made life decide to keep you in the street because that's where you belong", she shut the door and never got to see him again.
Not all beautiful stories ends well. Some are created to break you.
