The mental health of a content creator

in Dream Steemlast year

I would love to talk about "MENTAL HEALTH" as a content creator.

Content creation seems like an easy job, but the one who does it knows it how stressful it could be at times and how much you enjoy doing it at another time. It's all about your mental and emotional state when you sit to create something serious.

The mental health of a content creator plays a vital role when he sits down at his writing table and tries to write. For me, writing is an emotional process that requires a lot of creativity, which awakens emotions and entangles me in them. In trying to write, sometimes I get stuck and can't decide what to write or how to proceed with the process of writing. Probably, I am not mentally prepared for writing, or that's what's called the writer's block.

I was exhausted after achieving that reputation score of 70, which was my target. I wanted to achieve it before March 31st, and as a result, I was going through that stage; therefore, I did not take part in six challenges last week but kept writing where no serious writing was required.

I felt as if something unusual stopped me from starting the process of writing. In most cases, I was unable to think about what to write about, even if there were fixed topics to write about. Maybe most of them were out of my comfort zone. So I didn't even try to attempt them.

Maybe I am suffering from writer's block right now, which is a common problem. Every writer faces and goes through this writing block at some point in time.

So how do we deal with this mindset?

Some times I feel as if I am totally out of ideas or struggling for the right ideas. In some cases, I just didn't want to write. In such cases, I follow certain self-designed formulas. You know I have nothing much to do right now, so I try to write every day at the same time and find it beneficial most of the time.

I have tried and toyed with certain ideas that have helped me, like trying to write down whatever comes to mind and making a note of it to make it into a post as and when I need ideas based on that topic.
When I am going through a bad frame of mind, I write as if I were writing for myself and not for my readers or any contest.

And when I am doing that, I forget all about grammar, the structure of sentences, and organizing the content; instead, I write it as if I were writing under the "free writing category."

There is another point: I write anything that comes to mind, and in most cases, that's not even worth saving, but at times I come up with good ideas and make good content that works well as an article. But you know what? I write as fast as possible without giving it much thought. To be exact, I write as if I were talking to myself rather than writing an article.

I suggest one must read whatever they like and make a habit of disciplined writing, but definitely take a break. I have been practising writing in different niches and practising 'free writing'.

In case of self-doubt or dilemma while writing, seek advice from a writer or friend who can guide you properly. Do you know that to write one line or sentence, there should be a pen in hand (now the gadgets have replaced the pen) and thoughts in mind?

If people do intellectual and spiritual exercises in an effort to write, then what difference does it make what the writer's state of mind was?

It is a mental achievement. We all know that there are different topics that we can write about, but our writing must be engaging to keep our readers interested. We all know that everyone can't write on every topic that we know as a niche, so we all must know our mental standards, not only our own but those of our readers too. If someone writes beyond the scope of the topic, the chances are it will go over the heads of the readers.

And its level goes up. That's why I say that to write anything, the first requirement is to read something, pick up a pen, and write whatever comes to mind in a flow. You can revise your article after writing it and also organize it in a systematic way later on.

It is very simple. The readers themselves understand how bad or how excellent the writer is. Isn't it? How good or accurate someone's writing is and how many people have liked it can be gauged from the upvotes and comments it receives.

Readers follow a writer who has a good idea and a good grip on the subject and has excellent knowledge, even without any request, so that they can read his other articles as well. So all this gives an idea of the level of your writing.

I mean, as a writer, should you write when you are not emotional, upset, or worried, or wait until you are "yourself" in it?

It is written only to know one's own thoughts clearly. Confused people express themselves here, knowing their confusion, and gradually get it resolved. Whether you are emotional or happy, sad or happy, you write according to your thoughts, and it reflects in your writing.

You don't know how many meaningful and wonderful articles are buried in your own inner self, but if you are not in a normal state of mind while writing, then whatever you write will reflect in your writing. Sometimes you will wonder, "Did I write this?"

But maybe you don't even think that you would ever write like this. So it all reflects in our writing

Do you have mixed up the Communities? I think this was a topic in Steemit Health...?

I wanted to post it there but then decided to post it here! I intentionally delayed publication so that challenge contest is timed out.

Ah, I see. Then let that be okay: it's not directly fictional, but as an important hint for our authors we'll let it stand ;-))

I am sure this community has place for both, fiction as well as creative writing! Cheers!

Sometimes you will wonder, "Did I write this?"

For the sake of experiment, you can turn to old Freud for help. His psychoanalysis technology includes the "Free Association" method

You can try to remove the control of consciousness over the process of writing a text.

"Did I write this?"... 😁

Exactly, that's what I feel too. Let your imagination fly as high as you can see and you will turn into an eagle.

... or to the balloon basket 🤣😂 😅

I have tried that too! You know Canberra provides you a Balloon trip in a basket.

The whole question is how to get to Australia and whether it should be done)))
In my life I have never had to go up in a basket, but I went down in a steel barrel (under water). It also tickles the nerves ...)))

You should do what tickles your nerves or whatever. 😄What matters most is that it should tickle at the right place...

... it is still necessary to determine which place is necessary... and for what...LoL

Your mind, heart or whatever part which feels most tickled. The important thing is tickling that motivates you to do something, the part is not important here. Whatever part of your body keeps you going and motivating matters nothing else!

which awakens emotions and entangles me in them

This just hit me! Well seen and said!

Thank you so much for your kind visit and appreciation. I don't even remember what I wrote in this post as I did it in a flow. I wanted to post it in Steem Health community but stopped short as I felt I should post it somewhere else.

Thank you once again, have a nice time. I tried to play your video but it didn't work. I tried to insert a few videos in my latest post but it didn't work there too. So I used my FB links

Maybe you can here the song "Entangled" from another source. I like this song (from 1976) by nearly 50 years...

Sentenced to drift far away now
Nothing is quite what it seems
Sometimes entangled in your own dreams

These are the lines that I thought of.

I heard the song and liked its tone as it sounded divine and heart touching. Thank you!

Congratulations!
