Feathered Friends - Swans Part 2

Last week I started series of posts about the swans. If you missed my first post here is the link
Feathered Friends - Swans Part 1
Swans are one of the most graceful birds thanks to their long neck. To my surprise when i took some close-up photos and zoomed them I realised that the neck of the swan, especially the young ones, is more likely covered with fur, not feathers. Perhaps there is nothing to be surprised about but it is something new for me.
So I decided to present today only close-ups and I even cropped them with risk to spoil the quality.
Because they were feeding while in the sea, you may have noticed some droplets on their bill.
Honestly I don't know what they found in the sea to feed themselves.
Perhaps seaweed or some little creatures and fishy. I googled and found out that
Swans eat aquatic vegetation, which their long necks equip them to take from the riverbed
Well, that might be the same in the sea.
They take the molluscs which cling to the vegetation and also eat small fish, frogs and worms.
The adult swan is all in white with very distinctive orange bill
Do you know that swans have "theeth"? Well, not exactly. There are jagged parts of their bill. Thus they can catch and shred the fish.
This will be interesting to photograph. :-)
So, if you like to see more swan photos and learn with me more about their habits, stay tuned. There are more photos to come next week.
Thank you for visiting.

This is a great series of posts for #featheredfriends! Your photos are excellent. I've heard that a swans bite is very painful. The jagged 'teeth' would explain why.
!Tip
As much as I liked to be close to these wonderful birds I kept in mind they could bite. 😀
Thanks you very much for your supporr!
