December 2022 STEEM Instagram Promotion Report

This is a technical post in which I talk, mostly to myself, about the progress of the campaign to promote the English-language STEEM account on Instagram. It is needed to summarize and analyze information so that I can evaluate how the process is going month by month. Of course, if you are interested, I also invite you to familiarize yourself with the information below.

Doubts

I'll start by saying that some respected authors, whose opinions I highly value, have expressed reasonable doubts about the feasibility of promoting STEEM in this way. In their opinion, a massive influx of new authors will not bring any value to the platform. Instead, it would be better if Steemit brought together a small number of talented authors, maintaining high quality over quantity.

I fully agree that this opinion is valid. But at the same time, there are no things that are only right and only wrong. This platform is inextricably linked with cryptocurrency. That's a feature of it. At this stage of development of cryptocurrencies, they can only be in demand if they are popular. Without popularity, STEEM will depreciate and I don't believe that in this case there will be talented authors.

Conclusions

During December, we managed to achieve the main goal: to increase reach (by 83.5%) and interaction (by 93.3%). At the same time, for December, the account increased the number of followers by only 29.

Although the account is in English, most of the followers are from Venezuela. The Venezuelan community is one of the most active on Steemit and many from this community have followed all three Instagram accounts.

During December, it was possible to reach 322 non-followers. This means that 322 people may have learned about STEEM for the first time. Some of them might have been interested in it, some just continued scrolling through the news feed.

So far, reach is very small. The process of promoting an account takes time. But we may need to move to paid promotion. Further statistics will show this.
