Today, I'll be participating in the Urdu Community Contest, which is yet another important contest organized by the community. In this contest, I'll have to explain why and how Steemit social media is different and better than other social media platforms to the best of my knowledge. Every steemian will have a different perspective on this, but I am honored to have the opportunity to share mine. I hope you enjoy it.

Most Used Social Media Platforms

To be honest, my favorite social media apps were Twitter and WhatsApp, but after a while, the desire to keep posting and interacting on these two platforms faded, and I switched to being a full-time Steemian. Before I go into detail about Steemit, I'd like to explain why Twitter and Facebook are among my most often utilized social media platforms.

Twitter is a centralized social media platform that allows us to read the most recent or trending news. News and updates are spread as quickly as lightning on Twitter, and I get most of my crypto updates or news from there.

As a crypto enthusiast, I utilize Twitter on a regular basis to acquire fundamental news and updates on any crypto projects, which will help me make the best crypto decision possible. Sometimes I do participate in Airdrops task using twitter, this and many more are one of the few things I do on my Twitter page.

• WhatsApp

Yes, WhatsApp is one of my most used social media platforms; it is primarily used for communication and interaction. I used it to communicate with my friends and family via text, voice, and video calls. Since most of my friends and family are on WhatsApp, I used it to communicate with them. I joined various crypto communities on WhatsApp groups, as well as other groups that have aided my personal development.

Why Spending More Time On Steemit Is More Beneficial

Like previously stated I was addicted to this two social media until I discovered Steemit, For those who are unfamiliar with Steemit, it is the first ever decentralized social and blogging site where content creators are rewarded for sharing their daily activities, or lesson or high quality and orginal contents. Finance contents, photography, artworks steps, tutorials on how to go about things, even music, so far it's orginal and of high quality you are good to go. In return for sharing those contents, you get rewarded in Steem tokens.

There are 2 reward system on Steemit, authors and curation

As a content creator, you earn author rewards which are STEEM, SBD and TRX. All this are tokens that can be traded to other cryptos or your local currency using exchanges.

As an investor, you earn curation rewards, Yeah, you can invest in Steem and power up to have SP which will give you influence to upvotes or gives values to content creator, and you earn SP and TRX as reward. The SP can be power down to liquid STEEM which can be traded on exchanges.

How Steemit Has Benefited Me

Steemit is one of the best things that has ever happened to me; it has provided me with numerous benefits, which I will highlight below.

Financially: Steemit has financially shaped me through the money I earn as a content creator; in fact, Steemit is still my primary source of income, and I've been able to acquire a variety of items thanks to the money I've earned on the platform.

Improved My Creativity: When I first joined Steemit, I wasn't a big fan of writing or learning, so my creative side was quite limited. However, as time went on, I began to learn and read other people's content, and as a result, I became inspired, and my creativity grew. In fact, I had no idea what citation, markdowns, or plagiarism were, but now I do. Steemit has significantly improved my content creative side, as evidenced by my blog; if you look at my first five articles, you'll note how rough and uncreative they were, and if you compare them to my most recent five, you'll notice a considerable improvement.

Crypto Experience: This is another area where Steemit has benefited me because, when I first joined, I had little knowledge and experience with cryptocurrency. Interacting with other users and participating in Steemit crypto academy courses has greatly increased my knowledge and experience with the cryptocurrency ecosystem.

Friends With Benefits: Without a doubt, Steemit has blessed me with numerous friends who have helped me in times of need and offered me advise on various parts of life. They have also provided me with a wealth of information which has benefited me a lot.

The Advantages Of steemit compared to other social media

Unlike other social media platforms that aren't blockchain-based and are controlled by a central body, Steemit is a blockchain-based social media network with the decentralized feature of blockchain technology, i.e. no central authority.

• Rewards

Unlike Twitter and other social media platform, which doesn't pay a penny even if you have a lot of followers, Steemit rewards me for sharing my daily activities and content.

• Security

Steemit has strong security mechanisms in place, and your account is well-protected compared to other social media platforms, which can shut down or hack your account at any time.

The Disadvantages Of steemit compared to other social media

• No Password Recovery

Steemit uses a private key that is impossible to memorize, unlike other social media platforms that allow you to choose a password that is easy to comprehend. Furthermore, if you lose or misplace your password, there is no way to recover it on Steemit, whereas other social media platforms allow you to do so provided you pass the KYC.

• No Privacy

Keep in mind that Steemit is a blockchain-based social platform, and one of the features of blockchain technology is open source, which means that anyone can see your information, including your wallet balance and transaction history, which is not possible on other social media platforms because it is private and confidential.

You will agree with me after reading what I've mentioned above that the steemit platform is considerably better than other social media platforms. Since I've joined the Steemit platform, I've reduced the amount of time I spend on both Twitter and WhatsApp, infact I stop tweeting and focus mainly on Steemit, since I know learn and earn at the same time which is more important than just tweeting or chatting..
