Good afternoon readers and the Urdu community at large, it is my pleasure to be part of this week's contest, and enjoy my entry for this week.

Covid-19 was an epidemic. What would you say about it? Explain in your own words

Covid 19 is a flu-like sickness that embodies all characteristics of the normal flu but it is more deadly in the longer run. Covid 19 has symptoms of running temperature, cold, cough, and chest pain in the short run but in the long run, its symptoms worsen to dizziness, spatial blindness, difficulty in breathing, and in the end death.

The effect of the pandemic that rock the world 2 years ago is still fresh in everyone's mind as we still feel the effect today. Covid-19 to me was an experiment gone wrong in China. It nearly collapse the china economy as the mortality rate was high before it found its way to other countries and then the world at large.

Italy ended up being the country with the highest mortality rate as the Flu-like disease hit hard in the region. Thousands die as a result but in the end, a cure was found and the world was at rest once again. Finding the cure took the input of everyone and that's why the medicine for the prevention and cure of the virus is given out for free to date.

What difficulties did you personally encounter during Covid-19?

I experienced a lot of difficulties during the Covid 19 period in 2020. I lost my job due to the pandemic and I was forced to live my home due to the difficulty that came with feeding and sustaining myself. I left for Ondo state, Nigeria to stay with a friend just to get going. so this represents one of the toughest moments in my life up to this day.

How many people in your household were affected by Covid-19 disease and what was the condition?

Well, I have a relatively small family as we are four in number which includes my Mom, my older brother, younger brother, and me. I already stated how the pandemic affect me, so let's continue with how it affected others in my family. For my younger brother who is still a student, he had to pause education for at least a year as all schools in Nigeria at that time were closed. That quite affected his education as an automatic one year was added to his five years course.

For my older brother, it was different as he had to work from home. He owns his business as a mobile phone and accessories dealer. During the pandemic, the market where his shop was located was closed and the border was closed too so he could not import phones from outside the country. He had to make do with phones in Nigeria at that time.

My mum happens to be a trader and while the government instructed most organizations to shit down, sellers of consumables were allowed to continue business as it would have been impossible to survive without eating. So Covid 19 didn't negatively affect her that much and I could say that it was even at that period she made the most sales since she started out as a trader.

How did Steemit keep you busy or rely on information when you were home locked during covid-19?

Well, during the pandemic, I had more time to create posts,s and steemit rewarded me with the perfect opportunity to do this. It was during this period that the diary game was created and I participated in it. Steemit gave me things to write on and also rewarded me for it. The diary games also offered me the perfect opportunity to get to know how people were faring during the pandemic.

I also came across lots of information about the pandemic on steemit as various people of different nationalities were updating their blogs on the situation of things in their countries. It was a tough period but steemit made all of us closers than we ever were and that made a lot feel safe as the platform provided a safe space for us all.

Did you sell steemit earing during covid-19 to reduce or eliminate the problems you face in your daily life?

As I said, times became hard during the pandemic as I was broke and out of work, I had to rely on the proceedings gotten from steemit for my daily upkeep. I sold steem during this period through my Binance App. Steemit platform really came through during this period. I earned a lot of steem and I sold to buy foodstuff for my daily survival until the covid 19 regulations were eased and I could make money from venturing into something else.

Did steemit help other people besides you in your country, city during covid-19 global epidemic?

Steemit came through for a lot of writers in Nigeria as they could earn from steemit in order to attend to their daily needs. Also, the platform made Nigerians more united as we have a platform to communicate and also share ideas, and also post updates on how life is treating us during the pandemic. A lot of people from Nigeria benefited greatly from the steemit platform.
