Qurator's Photo Friday Competition #126 - Gualin Temple
The photo was taken at the Gualin Temple in Luoyang, China. The temple was built in 1596 during the Ming Dynasty. China has a hero named Guan Yu and is said to be the only person respected by Confucians, Buddhists and Taoists. He was a general of the Kingdom of Shu during the Three Kingdoms Period. It is said that this is the temple where his head was burried after he was murdered by the people of the Wu Kingdom. The temple complex has a lot of interesting history and worth vistiting.
