Comparison of Voting Efficiency

Many users compare the voting efficiency of delegation services based on a very small amount of SP, but this is an incorrect calculation.

Since the Steem blockchain introduced a Convergent linear reward curve after HF21, the upvoting reward increases by a higher multiplier as the delegated SP increases.

Let's take a look at the following reward curve.

the reward curve is significantly lower for lower SP (less than 1 million SP), and the curve rises as the vote with net SP value increases, becomes linear after 1 million SP.

Looking at the data instead of graphs:

Therefore, if you want to make an accurate comparison of voting efficiency, it is most accurate to look at the reward of other users who are delegating a similar amount to the SP you want to delegate. For example, if you want to delegate 200k SP, comparing based on 1,000 SP is completely inaccurate data.

Let's take a look at an example

UPVU vs Avle (if delegated 370k to 380k)

• @steem-agora has delegated 370k of SP to @avle.

• @wjs has delegated 380k of SP to @upvu.

What is the upvote reward for both of them? @steem-agora got an upvote worth $18.85 from Avle, and @wjs got an upvote worth $52.32 from UPVU.

The difference in the number of delegates between the two is only about 3%, but you can see that the value of upvoting differs by x2.77 times.

Of course, this is a problem that appears because the @steem-agora account has over-delegated to @avle, so upvoting is only possible up to x5.

More recently, there has been a growing number of delegation service options for community members to choose from, including @upex, @avle, and @nixiee. This is really welcome from the perspective of the Steem ecosystem as a whole.

However, some members are maliciously spreading misinformation and FUD. So we wanted to provide accurate information based on all things data. We are always ready to collaborate with @upex, @avle and @nixiee if necessary, and under no circumstances will we attack or criticize other services.
