Ok, so why would you rather the steem blockchain be secured by a single person using multiple witnesses as opposed to having multiple people with differing view points running nodes making things more decentralized, even though one of which is someone you seem to have issues with?

From where I stand, whatever this guy's past, he cannot do any damage as a single top 20 witnesses and it is good to have as many top 20 witnesses with differing opinions on things as possible for the health of the blockchain... I will keep an eye on things though and please keep my updated on what other information you find. From what I have seen thus far he may or may not have used the posting keys from some users of keychain to vote for his own posts in the post, but that is about all I can see that he is actually guilty of...

Like I said, please keep me updated, but overall I'd like to see the Top 20 witnesses be as diverse as possible... and having someone with a questionable past might be the lesser of two evils than having one person controlling multiple top 20 witnesses and risking centralizing the blockchain... at least in my opinion anyways.

Saving posting keys were the only solution to be able to post on someone else's behalf when there was no steemconnect . Can you believe these gangs ? Ganging up against me and xpilar not to allow us to reach the TOP20 . How can you believe someone who removed @xpilar ( The Most Honest Man i have ever known ) from the official Discord channel so that he does not sees anything . As a top 20 witness he might oppose the gangs Decision. They may HF any changes if only those people who ganged up stays in the top 20 position . First the INC centralized few stuffs and now these guys wants to be the game changers . For Steem to become Decentralized we need as many opposing witnesses as possible to secure the Chain from any forks

I don't know all the specifics of exactly what happened in the past, but I know for a fact I do not want the Top 20 Witnesses to be Centralized in any way. As such anyone running more than one witness should make room for another unique witness.

As if you don't know LOL . What's the percent of steem you get paid from those accounts ? You guys are running a really dirty game against @xpilar and me and you play innocent ?

There seems to be some implications Top Witnesses are running multiple witness accounts and splitting the rewards amongst each and as such are working to keep their seats at the table...

I'm not aware of any top witnesses splitting rewards. How should this work? All transfers are public, therefore I guess it would be visible at least to some degree. I for my part don't receive any rewards from other top witnesses.

Even if all the rewards are going to a single account that hasn't been divided up yet, doesn't mean it won't be at some point in the future...

Also on that note, who is:

steem.history
rnt1
newsteem.witness

There are a coupe others as well and combined there is a handful of the current Top 20 witnesses that appear to be being run by the same person... which is very bad for the steem blockhain in terms of security.

I don't know much about steem.history, but I know that he is a developer and he currently works on something to reward Steem devs with delegations. rnt1 is the main witness of the steemzzang team (steemzzang.com). newsteem.witness is a node provider and developer as well. If I remember correctly, he planned to provide kind of a Steem lottery in the near future.

I don't see any possible sock puppet accounts in the top other than parse and scissor.sisters and I guess they would not be in there, if real witnesses like roadofrich, starlord, marcosdk and cotina would receive more support. They don't get to the top, because xpilar and steem-supporter are blocking them with their proxy.

In my opinion it's clear what needs to be done to bring us further.

Couple things here...

First of all xpilar and team are also real witnesses, so not sure why they would not be included in your "real witness" category.

Second of all, how would them receiving witness votes cause sock puppets like scissor.sisters and parse to be in the Top 20?! That literally makes no sense... Again, having as many Top 20 Witnesses with differing ideas, locations, and abilities is ideal for a secure network, even if you happen to not like one or two of them. Having several of the Top 20 Witnesses run by the same person or group of people is not ideal for security in any way shape or form.

So, which of their (at least 4) witnesses they are running is the real one? Ok, let's say xpilar is a real witness. I still would prefer to have more real developers, who are capable of more than just forking existing Hive projects, in the top. They are the ones who need more STEEM to realize their projects. Xpilar's team already earns quite well even without the witness.

I don't control them, but I would say the sock puppet accounts are currently in the top to prevent witnesses that have proven themselves to be a security risk for Steem users from reaching the upper ranks.

Again, having as many Top 20 Witnesses with differing ideas, locations, and abilities is ideal for a secure network, even if you happen to not like one or two of them.

What I mean is that their proxy doesn't support real developers as soon as those reach the rank above their own. For example, they initially supported starlord but removed the vote just to reach a higher rank. It shows that it's not about getting as many real witnesses in to the top ranks, just about being in the top themselves.

On a completely unrelated note...

The Debt Ratio of SBDs to STEEM has now gone over 10%, which means no more SBDs are being printed. The only way this changes is if the price of STEEM rises or if the number of SBDs decreases. Which means... this is probably as good of a time as any to start using the DAOs SBDs to buy and burn STEEM, which would either raise the price of STEEM and/or lower the price of SBDs under a dollar to where we can use the conversion feature to convert the SBDs to STEEM thus decreasing the total supply of SBDs and getting the debt ratio back under 10% again...

Thoughts?

so you mean everybody needs to support those witnesses who are in a closed discord group .. and the community don't know what's going on in there !! We have supported real witness and one of them is yourself . !! We wont and will never will support anyone who has ganged up against us !! It seems like you are no more in a Neutral instance and joined the gang ? Why is that so just to retain your position on the #1 ?

For example, they initially supported starlord but removed the vote just to reach a higher rank. It shows that it's not about getting as many real witnesses in to the top ranks, just about being in the top themselves.

That is exactly what the other witnesses are doing as well... they are trying to ensure they have their seat at the table to earn as much as possible via sock puppets etc. If that is how everyone is going to think, I'd prefer we'd have as many unique witnesses with different locations, ideas, expertise as we can possibly get...

but I would say the sock puppet accounts are currently in the top to prevent witnesses that have proven themselves to be a security risk for Steem users from reaching the upper ranks.

This is major hyperbole... how would getting xpilar or steem.supporter in the Top 20 represent a security risk?! The bigger security risk is having one person controlling several of the Top 20 accounts and centralizing the chain, like the already known sock puppet witnesses we have talked about...

Apart from all this, why is being a developer a requirement to be a STEEM witness? I do agree that it is a bonus if they are, but it is probably just as important that they be in different physical locations with differing opinions and ideals. The development on steem over the past year has been almost non existent, even from those you say are supposedly working on projects...
